Great modern italian. They got ur typical pasta and pizza but each with its own twist. A must try is their angel hair pasta with capers, very tasty. Its a great place for romantic night.

“"Real" Italian at it's best!”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

There are many generic Italian restaurants in Beijing - great for families with children - but Tavola's has the edge for me due it's authenticity and ambiance. I especially love the three-course lunch - with delicious options, perfect portion size, and quick service. Highly recommend if you love Italian food and appreciate calm, trendy decor.

“authentic and delicious Italian cuisine!”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

Although Tavola is very much so on the pricey side (American price comparable), the food is exquisite. I took my friend here for his birthday and we had a wonderful dinner. I had the Cavatelli with fresh seafood, followed by the Australian lamb, and chocolate soufflé. He had a beef carpaccio, pesto pasta, and the Banana crème brûlée. We were both very pleased with our selections. I love Tavola's open kitchen - it was nice to see the food cooked before our eyes. The Italian chef also came by our table several times to ask if we were enjoying our food. The ambiance of the entire restaurant was very personable, and I appreciated the friendly staff (who all spoke English). I will definitely return to Tavola!

“expensive, but good”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

It's a little too pricey to eat everyday, but try the lunch specials. Around 130 yuan for three course meal.

“sadly, a huge disappointment”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

Three of us had what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner, but it turned out to be an evening of poor service and mediocre food. The restaurant was less than 20% full, but the waiters seemed far more interested in chatting with each other than in serving guests. My margarita was supposed to be served with chipped ice, but wasn't. The scallop appetizer was undercooked and raw in the middle and lacking any of that nice crispy exterior scallops should have. For the main course, I ordered a grilled shrimp dish. The dish consisted of one prawn. A large one, but hardly enough to be considered an entree and certainly not worth the 268RMB (about $40USD) for a single prawn. At one point the chef breezed past and asked over his shoulder, "everything okay?" Perhaps he should stop to talk to customers. The setting is lovely, but the poor service and mediocre food are what I'll remember. I'm still looking for a respectable Italian restaurant in Beijing. Sadly, this one isn't it.
