This is a centuries old classical Chinese courtyard hotel with a young intellectual, hip, entrepreneur serving your every need. from:
- coming out to the bell tour to personally lead you through the winding streets to his hotel,
- providing an umbrella that you forgot,
- providing a ‘Lonely Planet' tour guide,
- advising the best local place to eat Beijing duck,
- advising safety precautions to take with your expensive camera,
- how to use the metro/subway,
- providing your favorite Western music (currently the Doors are playing),
- to serving you the best local beer and talking subjects you wish with him in the courtyard,
my wife and I cannot overstate how pleasant our stay has been at this tastefully, comfortably renovated courtyard hotel.
Location, location, location. We have been able to reach all of Beings attractions with little effort from this perfect location in the heart of old Beijing. We are only 200 meters from the old clock tower, and old drum tower which are the heart of the ancient city.
We walked only 10 minutes to the 24 hour nightclub district that is like something out of a movie.
We walked only 10 minutes to the metro/subway and within a few stops reached the biggest Buddhist temple, and also the Forbidden city, and Tiananmen square a few stops further.
We chose this hotel from the reviews and we wish to contribute to the success story. Stay here and you will have a most pleasant stay in Beijing. (We are from Toronto, Canada. Sulin & Matthew)

Room Tip: The four rooms are theme oriented. We chose the Western room and we were quite pleased. We are conf...

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights during summer holiday.Just so in love with this little but beautiful, authentic, old fashioned yard situated in a local hutong.Great atmosphere, very good location, helpful staff. Altogether an unforgettable experience!!

Nice and friendly managers made my stay enjoyable from the start. The decoration of the rooms is really delicately unique, each room has its own theme which deliver warmth as compared to standard hotel room. Best part is, everyday after your tiring trip in beijing, you can just sit down on the wooden bench in the courtyard under the apricot tree, enjoy the breeze, listen to the retro-music played by the owners, have a chat with anybody, have a bottle of beer, life's just so simple n wonderful. e owner's so kind that she gave me packet of seeds before i left just bcoz i mentioned that her bean sprout was so cute!
Drawback: room size is relatively small. it's a nightmare finding the hotel in my first arrival, beijing hutongs r deep n number on door to door doesnt hv any order. beijing cab drivers r mostly unfriendly, impolite, n unhelpful, so it's best u tell the driver to drop u at 钟楼beijing clock tower, and ask the owner to come out n take u in, never mention 草厂胡同cao chang hutong, most cab drivers when they don know about the place they'll just bark at u. after u know how to get to the hotel, the location of the hotel is actually quite ok.

Room Tip: rooms with chinese traditional decorations r more lovely.
