We stayed here from 18th - 21st May, 2012 and have to agree with everything JS&KB,Hong Kong said. It was all very accurate.
We arrived in Beijin from Shanghai by train and had the name and address written in Chinese, though the taxi driver didn't know where it was. He pulled over and made a phone call to the Elite and we got there in no time, dropping us off on the main road as the taxi couldn't go down the narrow alleyway. cost only 22yuan. Easier than train with our suitcases.
We used the train/tube/subway (not sure what its called) on subsequent days as this was easy and fast and Hepingman station was close by.
We had a loft room, not too roomy but certainly comfortable. On the first night we could hear dogs barking for a while in the laneway and on the last night the locals decided to have a 'party' right below our window.....well they were sitting around eating and drinking and talking. This was a bit annoying but they finally left. One of the inside rooms would be much quieter and they will be very nice once the renovations are complete.
We didn't have breakfast outdoors as it was rather dusty due to the work, but had it in the 'indoor/alfresco' type area.
On arrival the man at the desk spoke no English, but later in the evening the young man spoke very well and helped us with our many questions. This was a bonus as we've learnt English is not widely spoken in China.
I wish TripAdvisor would get the name right as well, because I couldn't find any reviews before travelling due to the different name.
