Days Hotel Beijing New Exhibition Center
Ranked #169 of 6,564 Hotels in Beijing
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Location
The hotel is located around 10 minute drive from Terminal 3 at Beijing Capital airport in a shared office block. By Taxi don't expect to pay more than 20RMB although there is a free shuttle bus (which you have to call to come) but went for immediate taxi as November was too cold to wait outside for bus to arrive. The exhibition centre is close by and hotel next to a main highway, there isn't much to walk to in area other than the odd restaurant. However it is perfect if you need to be close to the airport and don't wish to pay high prices.
Room
I stayed here twice in a week as I was flying in and out. The first stay I booked cheapest option on Agoda (£45 not included breakfast). The room they gave me was small but adequate (1 double bed), however the noise from aircraft is quite full on, the room actually shakes as the planes are less than 100 metres from the window (on 4th floor). I then went to have a shower and there was no hot water. I went to reception and requested a room other side of building that had hot water as i really needed a decent sleep as i had to fly other side of the world the next day, they agreed to change room to better position but the room they gave me was even worse, facing same side (just two doors down) and smelly smoking room (specially requested non smoking), so after my 18 hr flight I was a bit moody when i went back down the 2nd time to reception as they didn't understand what I meant and was told the room i paid for was "efficient" type in which the only had four. I didn't understand so went thru to manager. Anyway the manager upgraded to 2nd floor which was larger room and faced inside of building, so much quieter. This was the same room i got on my 2nd stay (2days later) (@£67-cheapest option on Agoda). The room has two double beds and is spacious with a small wooden desk and and a small couch, there is a reasonable size wardrobe and some large mirrors. The TV is 42 inch but very cheap as clarity is poor, there is around 30 channels but 3 are english (CNN, HBO and ESPN-all very bad clarity or picture). The bathroom is pretty good, there is a large rain shower and additional separate shower head. When hot water flows it works well. Amenities are branded as day-inn and fairly simple but don't smell to great. The room decor is quite bland but comfortable. The room appears fairly clean but dust is present on corners and carpet edges. The bed is firm but adequately comfortable. Lighting options and plugs are plentiful and work well, the AC also is fairly quiet and controls are easy. Overall you will get a decent sleep for a overnight stopover if you need the airport or exhibition centre as long as you are not on 4th floor.
Facilities
The hotel has 1 restaurant downstairs, again simple and plain. I didn't try breakfast (costs 58RMB) but had room service twice. Would not recommend the pizza, thinking this was a safe bet as I ve had food poisoning in China 4 times (at other 5 star hotels), however the pizza comes with a cold base and cheese is only warmed on top but they did try and resolve it when i sent it back. 2nd night had sandwich and chips and was good.
There is also a gym or recreational centre as they call it and it contains 4 pieces of equipment, treadmill, cross trainer, and 2 bikes. There is also some computers in this area.
Other facilities include free unsecure WIFI in the rooms but it is frustratingly slow at times or it just tries to blocks gmail, waited almost 5 minutes for e-mail to load up.
Staff
Staff were relatively welcoming but not attentive, as my experiences with the room change request proved and on checking out first time got charged higher amount for room service, although staff apologised and resolved. Staff do seem helpful overall though and room service did make effort to resolve the "pizza" issue.

Overall the hotel is reasonable priced for airport hotel but it is an just adequate standard of hotel in a non interesting location, however it is perfect to be near to airport. The free shuttle service is every hour when leaving hotel. If you are a light sleeper and need sleep then i recommend paying more and staying on 2nd floor facing inside of building where aircraft noise is hugely reduced.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is more money but quieter.

Hotels near major airports are traditionally expensive.... this is surprisingly low priced for very high quality ( do use your search engine to compare prices!! ) and they have a free 24-hour pickup service from the airport. Bliss...no haggling with "yi bai kuai " ( 100RMB's) taxi drivers. Room is exactly as in the photo. Place is very quiet. Bathroom large. Twice I've arrived at my room at 2.00am after a long flight from Aus, and simply loved the good quality bedding and great mattress. The breakfast menu is both western and chinese, a good range, well stocked - something for everybody. Including freshly perked coffee. Friendly staff, reasonable english. Email 24 hours before-hand that you want pick-up. I then ring when I get there to confirm where they'll find me. ( It is NOT within walking distance of airport, maybe 3 - 4 km's and would be hard to find at night )

Room Tip: TIP. I use the hotel shuttle bus to take me back to BJ airport the next day, and then catch the exce...

Good quality hotel, excellent service, good price. Very convenient to the airport with free shuttle service to and from the airport. Although located on the flight path and not near a real community, you can take an evening walk to near-by restaurants of good quality and also a culture center where you can watch them learn to exercise-dance. It is also a very short 5-10 minute taxi ride to a good Peking duck restaurant and shopping area which almost feels like the old Europe with small shops and tree lined streets.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel to avoid the airplane noise overhead. If you close...

I stayed one night at the hotel. I reserved and used my AA points for the room. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There were nice amenities in the room along with a robe and slippers. I also picked up a quick meal in the restaurant which was good.
There is a shuttle which I used from and to the airport. When I arrived I called the hotel to make sure the shuttle was running. The shuttle picks you up in Terminal 3 between Gates 4-6-8 and runs on the half hour (don't think it's 24 hours) but you should confirm/call them anyway....thereby recommend having the phone number. I did not have the phone number and it took a while for me to find someone who could get it for me. Also there is a phone near the exit from the baggage area that you can use for 3 minutes free.
I did have a problem in the morning trying to get hot water in the shower. You definitely have to run the water a while to get any hot/warm water.

We had booked two rooms and found out when we got there they had given away one room. They did find us a second room, but it was on the "smoking" floor. The front desk staff were very friendly. The hotel bar was open late and that was plus! The hotel has a free shuttle to and from the airport that runs hourly. Most everyone at the hotel spoke good english which was a bonus. The hotel is about 15 mns from the airport.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in when I have been working in China. It was either recently built or updated. The bathrooms were very modern and well appointed. The beds were comfortable clean and with nice duvet covers. The two downsides which were minimal 1) It is directly under the final approach for the airport, but the noise level was not to bad and lasted only a few seconds each time. Did not keep me awake. 2) You have to have the information counter call for the shuttle and they do not always come to the same location.

i used the hotel for a one night stay in beijing between two flights. the hotel is close to the airport, a shuttle service exist and works nice (in may case on a hourly base or on call).

it is important to have a chinese phone, the driver will call you back.

from the hotel to terminal 3 the bus needs about 15 minutes.

the hotel is a 4 star hotel, it is more or less new. the hotel is well equiped, lan is properly working (but the usual ports are blocked). wifi is available but only working near the lobby.

a large and (very) good breakfast buffet is offered, which was suprising me in combing chinese and western cookings etc.

the hotel is close to the airport, it is so close that you can see for a few seconds the 30 mtr. above flying landing aircrafts. yes this is very loud, but .... if you know it, you can acccept this. in my case i had no problem with this fact, going to bed about 1am i was surprised that also from this time no aircrafts arrive but to the morning about 7.00 am, then some aircrafts are using this way (every 10 minutes). if you can not accept this or being able to ignore this deep sound ... choose another hotel.

overall: for me a perfect choice, especially in combination of the location and the price which was about less 70 euro including breakfast and cancellation option (up to three days before).
