This hotel is a good budget option, although I'm wondering why hotels in China are holding double the amount of the hotel total price on debit and credit cards? Anyway, the room was ok with free wifi (always a plus) and heating. The breakfast had lots of western and Chinese options and reasonably priced. This hotel is in a fantastic location close to bakeries, shopping, restaurants and Chongwenmen Subway,

Wifi only in the Lobby…lol…and the wifi is WEAK. Desk staff are ridgid and unwelcoming. This is an authentic chinese hotel catering it seems, NOT FOR TOURISTS…I had a lousy experience at this hotel and will not be back EVER...

Well maintained hotel with efficient staff, all spoke excellent English.
Seemed to be a real variety in nationality of guests so obviously a popular and busy hotel.
This did impact breakfast a little, if you go at peak time expect to struggle to find a seat and you may end up sharing with other guests.
Other than that rooms were great and the location excellent. Tianamen Square is a pleasant 10-15 minute walk with the main shopping area on the way.
Would happily return.

Great hotel in a great location!

Walking distance to Wangfujing Rd- night markets, great food, wacky food and trashy souvenirs you just know you have to get.

Room was very nicely furnished, more than enough space, bathroom one of the best I have had in a hotel. Breakfast was insane, in a good way, so much variety and the non-strange things we tried were pretty tasty.

Make sure you get a business card from the lobby as taxi drivers have no idea which hotel this is. They may know the name "Novotel" or "Hilton" but this hotel isn't actually called Inner Mongolia Grand Hotel, the neon sign on the roof says "Nei Meng Gu Grand Hotel". But who cares, it's awesome!

The location is great, only 100-150m from the metro station, so you can easily get to any attraction in the city. (If you like shopping - big shopping malls are down the street). Also no problem with currency - there is an exchange at the reception and two cash-machines at the hall.
The room was huge, clean and with a loveliest view (tv/internet/tea-coffee - all present). There are several resaurants. Breakfasts are great and you can always find the food you like.
All the staff members were very helpful and friendly. :)

A great hotel in a great location! We walked to the hotel from Beijing Railway Station, where we found the hotel on a busy main road. The staff were extremely friendly on arrival, and spoke enough English that check-in wasn't a struggle.

We got a room with a kingsize bed, which after spending a week on the Trans-Mongolian Express was possibly the most comfortable bed we could of dreamed of. The room was pretty big and had a big TV, a desk with an internet connection and our own tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was big too, with a massive walk in shower. The A/C worked fine too which was always nice.

Our room was on the west side of the hotel on a busy main road, however we never had a problem with sound from outside and we even had a great view of Beijing from our windows.

The hotel staff were always friendly, and hailed a taxi for us to take us to the airport when we left. Every day the room was re-stocked with toiletries and free water. The food in the hotel was expensive in comparison to the rest of the city, but was still really nice.

Don't be put off by the communist style drab exterior. Inside, this is a very good, 4 star hotel in excellent location. Big, clean, modern rooms with all the amenities you will ever need. Soft beds, good dual head shower, bathrobes, free bottles of water every day. Nice helpful staff - we arrived at 8am and they let us have the room immediately with no fuss at all. The only thing needing improvement is the breakfast - not enough choice of western food and what is available is often cold and not particularly tasty, not really worth 98RMB they charge. The hotel clearly caters more for the Chinese guests. Also, the Wi-fi is only available in the lobby but that's not such a big problem.
The hotel is very convenient for subway lines 1 and 2 and 5. 2min walk from Dongdan station ( exit C or D ), 10 min walk to Wangfujing Street ( diagonally across from Malls at Oriental Plaza - try the excellent Food Republic ), 20min walk to Tiananmen Square, direct access to the Temple of Heaven and Lama Temple/Confucius Temple on line 5.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Don't bother with superior rooms, the standard ones are very good. Ask for a room on a high floo...
