This screen belongs to the ancestral hall to the east of the main axis, intricately made by glazed ceramic sections, depicting the 9 different dragons with different colours and poses.
The screen is intended to ward off even spirits, by being placed in front of gate as an obstruction, typical to Beijing traditional architecture.
This section is much less visited
See if you could a little section of one of the dragons, with less lustre. The original section was broken during construction, and out of fear, the artist replaced it with painted wooden section, as the whole ceramics are made outside Beijing.
Ticket includes the ancestral palace complex.
