We did the one day secret great hike with this company and it was incredible.
We got to walk a part of the wall that the tour groups and crowds don't visit so for three hours we only saw 9 other people on the wall. It's a tough hike though as the wall is unrestored, rugged, steep and slippery but never dangerous and all the hard work is continually rewarded with breathtaking views.
We walked through watchtowers, climbed them, went up, down and across the wall. It was one of my favourite travel experiences ever.
The end of the trip joins with a restored part of the wall which is where the crowds and stall sellers are. It's a restored part of the wall and still stunning to see and compare with the unrestored part that is experienced in the first few hours.
We then chose the cable car route to the bottom and our transport back to the hotel awaited us.
There are cheaper ways to see the wall but this was an authentic, fun and challenging experience that I highly recommend if you have the time and fitness ability.
