Great Hyatt was fully booked and the Park Hyatt shooting the price to a ridicules level of rmb 8k per night, owing thanks to the over-crowded JPM Beijing Summit. What else I can choose to stay on the east side of Beijing. My eyes fall on a flyer from Asiamiles which offers a free night per booking at Beijing China World Summit. It sounds like a new hotel in association with Shangarila and not the old-fashioned China World hotel. Why not have a try? However, as my assistant later found out, the promotion only applied to a suite for rmb4700. With a slight sense of being cheated, I still go ahead given the ultimate average price seemed still a good bargain.

The suite is spacious and built in with ceiling-to-floor windows birdviewing the CBD area of Beijing to the far end of sun setting. There is also a bar at the top level, which might be comparable to Park Hyatt's. I did not try as the seats were all taken then.

Overall, very good. I'll add it to my favorite list.

This hotel is operated by Shangri-la. You can be assured of its quality of service. This particular hotel is quite comparable to all our other stays in the chain throughout Asia.

The unique feature of this hotel is its location and height. Rooms facing west have the views of the forbidden palace, drum and bell towers, altar of heaven ... etc. Definitely the best side to stay. On the other hand, if you prefer views of new, fancier buildings, east facing rooms have the CCTV tower view. Lower floors actually are O.K. for now. As the hotel begins from 64th floor (lobby), and is much higher than any other buildings in the surrounding area.

The location, if you are here for business, is superb. It's right in the downtown (CBD) area with subway lines (Guomao on lines 1 and 10) connecting to the trendy areas such as sanlitun (Liangmaqiao station on line 10) and modern shopping at Dawanglu (line 1) or silk market (Jianguomen on line 1), which are good alternatives given the horrible traffic in the eastern Beijing.

The Hotel holds the title World Sumnmit as it is the tallest skyscraper in Beijing city for now. They offfer great comfort at the right price and impeccable views over Beijing however i was really satisfied with the hotels service the top point goes to their Diva; Miss Amanda WOOD, she is singing on the 80th floor's Atmosphere Bar the service at the bar and the view is inexplicable its a must see! Food and Beverage is above standards and they hold a great Wine Collection in house, Amanda Wood is an extraordinary voice she is a master talent and honestly speaking i havent heard anyone better since. She knows the crowd very well and knows how to entertain them, excellent performer excellent singer and definelty adds up a lot more to the value of the hotel and service it self, Stay at Shangri La World Summit Hotel and do it only because you will regret to miss a jewel of talent, i wish her lots of success and sure to see her in International Music Markets very soon.

The Spa of the Hotel is great and the treatments are must try especially the Signature collection.

Room Tip: 6916 is a great corner room located at the Golden Circle floor.

Best location in Beijing for a hotel... stayed here in April of 2011 and April of 2012. Both times, we had a suite with an outstanding view of Beijing. Location is great... you can walk to the Silk Street & Pearl Market in about 20 minutes.

Views from the hotel room are outstanding; service is outstanding. Food at "Grill 79" & Fook Lam Moon are also outstanding. All in all, this hotel can make your Beijing travel quite an enjoyable experience... but it ain't cheap.

WOW WOW WOW - I was staying at the main China World Hotel and was very unhappy with it. Happened to walk around the corner the morning after I checked in and saw the "Summit Wing". I went in to ask if it was the same hotel - it is affiliated but not the same I think. They were extremely helpful in contacting the China World Hotel and moving me across to the Summit Wing. I paid less for a standard room than I was paying at for a larger room at the other hotel. The rooms start on the 49th (?) floor. They are in a modern Chinese style - a combination of English and Chinese - very plush and Luze. There is a beautfiul Guest lounge on the reception floor (49th?) with a lovely library. A great place to host guests. The breakfast on the top floor (80th floor I think) is fabulous. Top quality. Service at the hotel was amazing. I see that this hotel is rated 49th of Beijing hotels. That must be because it is only new. I wont be surprised to see it climb to the Top 5 soon. This is the place to stay for me for high end luxe rooms, great service and a great location.

Have been to BJ several times on business. Last time stayed @ Fairmont and befor at St. Regis, while those were both great properties I was blown away by the CWH Summit Wing.

Amazing location, beautiful lobby(s), huge bathrooms with showers big enough to hold board meetings in, top floor restaurant/lounge area is spectacular. Rooms had everything you'd expect but the differenence is that you wake up facing Beijing and the forbidden city. One of the real selling points is also the gym/pool area. Has to be one on par or better than any I've ever seen at a hotel with infinity edge that pool that ends over BJ's skyline.

Would compare this hotel to the Four Seasons in HK or the Peninsula in Shanghai and suggest it might even be better.

One of the taller hotels in Beijing in the CBD (close to Kerry Center, etc.). Great view when no pollution although outside windows could be cleaner.

Very nice rooms and service. Minor issues - room included ironing board but nor iron - easily solved by calling housekeeping. Also hair dryer kept on shorting out. Again, easily fixed, but for a 5-star hotel, shouldn't have these minor issues.
