Nice but not more than that

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 24, 2012via mobile
It is a ok hotel 4 star in my view. Expensive prices for even a soda at the bar cost 10 bucks. Breakfast is fine though you should consider to go in with cloths you want to send to laundry as you will come out stinking. Price per night is reasonable thank for instance the Westin I stayed in before but you get what you paid for (150/night including breakfast at the grand hotel). One of the most Nnoying things is the automatic light at the rooms minibar like a flash light on and off when ever you pass by.

Some 30 minutes from the airport by taxi, this hotel is large, comfortable, pleasant...yet cut off. At €100 per night excluding breakfast, the price is reasonable, whilst we managed to get a rate of €12 for breakfast, which is bountiful to say the least - from freshly made pancakes to a myriad of other local dishes.
The underground walk to the Convention Centre is excellent and fast - some 5 minutes walk - great if attending or participating in any fair.
The only drawback is remoteness of location - based in the Olympic village, very close to the Bird's Nest construction, means very poor service from taxis. Waiting over 40 mins to get a taxi is pretty normal and there are times when you actually give up and are forced to eat at the hotel. (Must add that weather during my stay was pretty lousy with sleet and snow making road travel pretty daunting, hence causing further delays).
If this is not a major issue to you, then this is an excellent place to spend your time in Beijing.

The hotel is very confortable, clean and quite. Amenities really good. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was very nice for foreigns. The restaurant buffet for dinner or lunch was overpriced for Beijing patterns (570 yuans for a couple) and the food was not so good. There is a shopping mall two blocks away with many other good options for food and a good supermarket too. The subway station is in the shopping mall too. The hotel is near the Olympic Park, but far away from other landmarks. I took 45 minutes to achieve Sanlitum Village by subway. Besides this, the hotel is fine and everything was ok during my stay.

Just arrived yesterday. The room is big and nice, but awfully warm under the sun. The aircondition in the room only give warm air, so useless. My room temperature stayed 27 C° whole night, evening with the window open. Called the reception, no help..... Couldn't really sleep. In addition, The street is noisy when you have to keep the window open.

The location is great to stay if you are attending an event at CNCC. The hotel is closed to a shopping centre and a metro station.

The food centre at the Olympic park where the Olympic stadium is located has great selection of food.

Take a walk in the evening near the park was a wonderful experience as you will find local talent and have a great time.

This was my third trip to Beijing, and this was by far the most professional and complete hotel I have experienced. The hotel is located adjacent to the Convention Center (there is underground connection, so no need to go outside), and is 2 to 3 blocks from the Olympic Park and a big Shopping Center that includes a large grocery store. The hotel has executive rooms with access to an executive lounge, and regular rooms. The regular rooms are spacious with free wifi, and, no kidding, every possible accessory. One of the best features was the high pressure shower, which to me is really important. Plenty of water and plenty of pressure. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the stay includes a large continental breakfast. The continental breakfast includes omelet stations and both eastern and western items. The Danish pastries were surprisingly good. The room access is with the new radio frequency card, which does not de-magnetize like the strip card. Every time you take a cab, a hotel staff will give you a card with the cab# and written instructions to show the driver where you are staying. Overall it was a very efficient and pleasant stay.

Room tip: Odd numbers had a nice view
