We managed to book the entire restaurant as there were 25 of us. It was not easy to locate the place but thankfully the directions were good. The restaurant is small but cozy. We could clearly see the chef at work as the open kitchen was facing one of the 2 long tables. We had 10 different courses of distinctly Chinese gourmet dinner and good pairing of red and white wines from Australia. The wines were free flow and that added to the dining experience of the evening. Each of the courses was well prepared and I especially enjoyed the stir-fried mushroom dish and the egg plant. The dessert of ice cream mixed with deep fried bananas was an excellent end to the gourmet dinner. We will definitely return again.

We loved the atmosphere, the service, the food and the drink. We were served 10 delicious dishes. We were seated 10 people by a table. The other table in the other room I believe is also for 10 people but there we no contact between those two tables due to the seating arrangements. Our table had a nice mix of nationalities; Spain, Sweden, Singapore, South Korea and Norway and everybody was talking and enjoying themselves.
Dishes were presented as they arrived, glasses filled continously and the hours just flew by.

Book early !

Having read the reviews on this site we decided we had to go. Our tour guide booked and provided the address in English and Chinese for the cab driver who got us as close as possible and pointed us in the right direction. It was still not easy to find however Michele was positioned in a doorway busy giving instructions on her mobile to other customers - we had found the place. As per previous reviews this is not a restaurant on a street with a sign outside. We were taken through the courtyard where the 'kitchen' is located - two separate large dinning tables where you sit with other diners we had a mix of Brazil, Switzerland, Australia and England. The cooking takes place at the end of the table by staff that are obviously enjoying what they do. I have to say the food, every single course and there are ten, is divine. Whilst the cooking is going on Coco and Michele make sure you have all the refreshments you require and take the opportunity to chat and join in with the conversation around the table. A lot of fun, wonderful atmosphere, sensational food and great people.

The waitress was waiting for us outside the restaurant, we have to enter in the hutong, and walk a little to get it, I was a little scare about the place, the entrance do not look to nice.
If you want to go you must book in advance, they only have 23 seats shared in two huge tables, I recomend you not be next to the kitchen, because in the opposite direction is the bathroom.
The dinner was amazing, I do not like so many dishes of chinese food by in this places I try them all excep one. The dessert was really good black sesame ice cream with banana, sound crazy but it is delicious.
We have one trouble with the dessert, they apologize and share with us some really weird drink.
You must go to this place even if you do not like chinese food, at the end you are going to became a new fan.

It's a super fun evening at BSK--if you can plan ahead and get in you should definitely do it. I don't even know what makes the kitchen so great--is it the food? the company? the suspense of finding the place? Maybe it's the frenetic energy of Beijing and the fact that you generally feel on edge and discombobulated when you're there, and then you come to BSK and you can just feel at ease and relaxed. You know the food will be delicious, you'll enjoy meeting people from all over, your wine glass will be generously refilled...
Also a fun hutong for shopping before or after your meal.
