“Delicious duck”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

This was our first experience with Beijing Duck so I am not able to say if this was better that other ducks served this way. However to us the duck was absolutely perfect: crispy skin, tender and tasty meat. Exactly what you would expect.
We had to wait for about 30minutes for a table as we did not have a reservation, but the food was worth the wait. The restaurant is modern and beautifully decorated. The service was generally good. It took a while before we could order what we wanted, but the food arrived quickly and we were given a hands-on demonstration in how to eat the duck correctly. Extra serving of duck pancakes was included in the price as well as a dessert of persimon jelly and fresh lychee fruits to top of the dinner.
A nice place to have your first taste of real Beijing duck.

“A Must go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

The best Peking Duck ever. The food was excellent and the ambience was beautiful. It isn't cheap, but after eating its Peking Duck, you will want to go back for more.

“Food was tasty but service was not”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

I think the food was very good. The menu is huge and beautiful. A bit intimidating. It was the end of a long day of touring and we needed help picking the right options. It took a bit to find someone who could speak English, and she just wasn't friendly or helpful at all.

We ordered what I thought should be enough and she insisted I still needed more. So I ordered more, and she insisted I still needed more.

Well, we had way too much food. It was delivered all at once kind of in a hurry - i've been told this is typical in beijing restaurants.

Anyway, not a pleasant overall experience.

“Melts in your mouth, not in your hands. Best duck ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

The roasted duck literally melts in your mouth. When it touches your tongue, it feels like heaven. I've eaten at Quan Jude prior to going here in Da Dong, and comparing the two, Da Dong wins by all means. Ambiance is much better too, but I think it is more expensive here. As some locals would say, it is a fancy restaurant and it truly is.

“Great Peking duck”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

This is a lovely restaurant, great ambiance. Chefs roast duck in an open area surrounded by a koi pond. There are free "welcome drinks" including wines and iced fruit juices. The menu offers a wide selections; however, if you go, the roast Peking duck is a must, noodles are a great addition and if you add a vegetable you will have plenty for four people. The plum sauce is amazing. The chef will prepare the duck at or near your table and your server will teach you how to prepare the duck. Our meal also included a persimmon gelatin as a dessert -- I had trouble with the texture but I enjoyed the flavor. We did not have a reservation and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We were in Hong Kong, Xi'an and Beijing, this was our best meal and the best Peking Duck I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Gratuity is automatically added.
