This was the main reason for our trip...to walk on the Great Wall of China. There are many sections but any section is memorable. Be prepared to walk alot and climb steps. I thought the walk would be easy but it was really challenging to get to the stations up on the moutaintops. Only 3 out of our group of 4 made it to the what we thought was the top and when we got there, we were told it goes all the way to Mongolia...so we turned around, took a picture, and headed back. The event is a once-in-a-lifetime trip so I glad we at least went up to one of the higher points visible from the main visitor center. Do it and check off a bucket list item!

4 of us had a wonderful experience in this trip. We are Asians, mostly grew up in America and had very little knowledge of china. This trip exceeded our expectations in everything except food. If one expected same or better cuisine in china than what you can get in San Francisco chinatown food, it will be great disappointment. We learned along the way that the food there was what truly is, local cuisine that Chinese people eat over there. Then, you will be ok. The rest of the experience was fabulous, including lodging. Our local guides were very good and especially national guide Ron. He was absolutely meticulous and made our every move so smooth. We truly felt that our experience was enhanced due to his professionalism. We would ask for him to be our guide if we have any future trip for china or Tibet. We had some opportunities to talk to other people who were traveling with other tour group and we are so happy that we went with chinaspree for this trip. We absolutely recommend chinaspree to everyone.

I cannot even describe this ...I have never in my life worked so hard physically at doing something, and have been so rewarded at the end. Took me 1 hour and 20 minutes of harsh stair climbing to get to the top, and I am far from being a fit person...but something made me do it. The feeling when I got to the top...wow! The descent took 40 minutes, and your knees are shaking and your legs are like jello when you get back to the bottom...but oh, the feeling!!! Bring a protein bar and some water...take your time, ten stairs at a time if you have to, pace yourself, but oh so so worth it!!!

We did a one day tour of the wall with www.wildgreatwall.com we walked from Gubeikou to Jinshaling. Ricky our guide picked us up from our hotel and we travelled in a car with Ricky and a driver to the start of the hike. The car was the cleanest we had been in in China and also the only one we went in with seat belts. The driver was safe, again the only one we encounted. We stopped on the way to stretch our legs, look at the birds nest stadium and have some water, all of which just made a long journey a bit more enjoyable. When we arrived at the wall Ricky explained some of the history and answered all of the questions we had. The walk itself was amazing and was even better because we passed very few other walkers. There certainly weren't a lot of tourists on this part of the wall which is what we wanted. The views were amazing as you could see the wall for miles snaking through the mountains. Rickywent at our pace and waited paitiently as we took hundreds of photos. He told us about different sections but not too much and he also let us enjoy it as a couple and kept ahead of us most of the way so as not to be intrusive. We had a great day and I would definitely recommend wild great wall trips.

This is must see. Too know you have climbed it is amazing. The wall is always very busy but everyone is friendly. There was a hard way and a even harder way form the point our guide took us to, we choose the even harder way at some points it was nearly vertical, we had to pull ourselves up with the handrail, but got to a very high point the view was amazing and well worth the effort. All the Chinese want to take our photo as there are not many westerners there.
