“Enjoyable, but weak compared to other Beijing parks”
Review of Chaoyang Park

Chaoyang Park

Our 4-year-old enjoyed the park (including some of the amusement rides) as did we, but she enjoyed the other parks in Beijing more. This park lacked the small man-made rocky hills and ponds that she lived climbing around elsewhere and, with a few very pleasing exceptions around one lake area, the park often lacked the strong aesthetic design that other Beijing parks show. Also, despite the park having the amusement rides, there were actually fewer Chinese children just playing around with balls for our daughter to play with.

This park is lots of fun for everyone in the family. Our kids really enjoyed the zip line and the potato treats. Very lively at all hours of the day.

great park for a family stroll, and to be alone and away from the smog and noise, really a great way to get into nature in beijing, but not a sightseeing destination.

The park is HUGE, but I guess compared to US parks I was disappointed with the lack of open green space. Lots of stone walking paths, basketball courts, water, little play area for kids (cost money which surprised me for a public park), beautiful carousel and more. Not really the kind of park I'd let me little one just run around with a soccer ball and was disappointed to have no playground for free.
