Good location + good value + a good buffet breakfast = a great stay.

Stayed for 3 nights at a triple room which has a mezzanine in it, we were satisfied with the room, tho' we had a hard time locating our room initially, there was no one to assist us, but nevertheless, found the room anyway.

The buffet continental breakfast is decent too and the staff at the restaurant are nice, and the location at the rooftop gave us a good view, even if the view is the "old" area of Beijing.

I would recommend this to my friends as a good place to stay in Beijing, very near all parks and is just 3 stations away from Wangfujing Street by bus.

Don't get confused by the name of this hotel. There is no park and certainly no king to be viewed here. The hotel is set in a lively back street, but within a 30-minute walk of the Forbidden City,Tiananmen Square and the main shopping street. Otherwise take a cheap taxi. (We had twice a bad experience with a rickshaw driver).
We found our double room on the small side, and upgraded to a larger one of the fourth floor at a modest extra charge..
The staff spoke poor English, were not too friendly and they never conveyed an important message.
Our room had a safe and a small fridge, but the air conditioner was not functioning. Fortunately, it was not really warm yet.
The flat screen TV-set offered only Chinese channels.
The bathroom facilities are adequate.
The hotel offers free internet, but it is slow.
Breakfasts were fine.
A good thing for long-term travellers: there is a cheap laundry shop around the corner.

Room Tip: Ask for a (larger) double room on the 4th floor

We stayed for 3 nights in April. The position is great, you can walk to the Forbidden City, and all the parks around the Forbidden City. Some reviews said that the taxis could not drive up to the front door, but ours did. You can also check in early. We arrived a 7.30 a.m. and our room was ready though they did need to find another bed as there 4 of us. That was no problem to them.
Local shops very good for buying crisps and beer and other food. Everyone very friendly. We found the staff very helpful. We had a quad room which was on 2 floors.

This is a good budget hotel. It's not the nicest hotel. Though the lobby area is nice and the roof top terrace roomy, the hallways on the hotel room floors smell musky and look worn. Nor is it a particularly savory area (middle of a old hutong area). However, the hotel is good for those on a budget. And the location is VERY good. VERY close to Jingshan Park. Also, close to Forbidden City and public transport. The continental breakfast is decent and the staff is nice too. Free WI-FI is limited to the hotel lobby and is unavailable in the hotel rooms.

In our opinion this hotel was well located on a very vibrant street, was clean and breakfast was good. The only thing was staff, in particular Griffith at the arrival; he was rude and condescendent. We had to argue to get our reservation honored as it was clearly written on all the documents including his own documents!. Actually we had to pay an extra 100 Yuan a night for an extra bed even though the reservation was clearly stating this was for 4 and not 3. We also had to argue to have the breakfast included honored: you should never have to have that type of conversation when everything is clear in the reservation: this was the first time we experienced something like this on 3 continents... Just because of that, we won't return to this hotel and we don't recommand dealing with an hotel employing people like him.

This hotel is definitely 2-star and no more. It is an inexpensive hotel near to the Forbidden City and other sites (art museum and very lovely park). That said it is definitely on the shabby side: everything looks worn. I got the distinct smell of smoking in my room. Room clean up service is borderline at best. A coffee mark i made on the first day near my sink remained there throughout my stay. A light wipe would have removed it easily. There is no pool or fitness center.

It is definitely hard to find--bring a detailed map if you come by taxi or have the number available so that your driver can call for directions. It's not just down a lane--is off a narrow street and not visible from the street at all.

It is about 20 minutes to walk to the underground.

Parkview is a misnomer--I don't think it's possible for any of the room to see the park.

The local restaurants are great: friendly locals who work hard for a living and cook great breakfasts and dinners make it well worth a quick stroll down the street to eat.

Overall, if you are on a budget and looking for an inexpensive place to stay that is close to good food and some attractions you will not go wrong here. But do not expect a four-star hotel.

Room is smaller than their photos, carpet is dirty and smell. It is supposed to be a non smoking hotel, indeed, non smoking room completed with ash tray and matches. Local people smoke in the lobby too !!!. Most staff do not speak English. Location is convenient but hard to find. There is a International Youth Hostel, formerly known as Jing Dong Yu Yuan Hotel (Tel : 10-64021886) has bigger and better room without carpet only cost 200 CNY during slow season as compare to what we paid 320 CNY per night per room.
Also be awared that some restaurants will charge you for chopsticks, plates and bowl to eat. Ask before you order or bring your own.
Will not come back for sure.
