“Excellent location, Value for price & comfortable!”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We booked 2 family rooms during our last visit in June 2012. I will give a big thumb up for this idealy located hotel, great value for money. The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable and clean. Walking distance to Wangfujing & subway station. Air-cond , heater , coffee maker & hair-dryer works well.Hotel staff were friendly & attentive. Daily complimentary drinking waters & water dispencer at lobby for our thirst quench when we were back from hot day. Highly recommended!!!

Close to 2 subways, food places (hotpot restaurant a minute away), tourist spots like the Forbidden city, Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing Street.
We arrived late at night and had already guaranteed the booking by credit card. As we were not carrying enough cash to make full payment for 4 nights plus 800RMB deposit (surprise!) in advance, we paid deposit by card and 50% of room tariff by cash agreeing to pay balance next day after changing money. By the time we returned next day, they had locked us out. We went back to the reception, paid the balance and returned to our room to find key still not working. In short the key fiasco happened three times out of which only once there was floor staff on duty to help us. This was the only bad experience during our stay. Rest of the time staff was courteous and helpful. Maybe they have had bad experiences earlier but it’s not very nice to see all guests in same light, especially when they had a credit card guarantee and nothing was mentioned about the deposit in their mails to us.
Comfortable room though bed is hard and can feel the springs. Luckily there was an extra blanket which we used as cushioning.
The night markets at wangfujing are very touristy. They try to charge tourists higher rates and then negotiate…bargaining on food is not to my liking. We went to Gui jie (Ghost Street) and relished local fare local style.
Do visit the summer palace. It’s worth hiring a guide at both summer palace and forbidden city. There is fantastic hotpot restaurant near the subway at summer palace.
Though we wanted to go to Mutianyu, the bad weather barely permitted us to go to Badaling. In bad weather, check in advance if the buses are plying to save you a trip to the bus station. Best way though is to take the train which is quite comfortable with a small dining car and cheaper too. We walked all the way to the north tower 8, but if you are feeling too lazy to walk you can opt to take cable car (from this side to tower 8) or the sliding car (opposite side to tower 4). Carry plenty of water and some dry snacks for the climb.
Avoid the supermarket diagonally opposite the hotel…they tried to charge us exorbitant rates for liquor and then tried bargaining. Obviously we left without buying anything.
Beijing airport is very busy with high traffic. The road leading to the terminal gets jammed easily. Ensure you have enough time to reach the right terminal and finish all check in process.

Stayed here for 3 nights in January 2013. Rooms are clean and big, beds comfortable and the heater did its job well in a cold Beijing winter. It's a basic no frills hotel but within reach to everything you need to do and go as a tourist. Local restaurants around, subway within 10 mins walk and Tienanmen/Forbidden City just around the corner. If you wish to go to the Olympic sites and Hutong area, just take a local bus right in front of the hotel for 1 yuan. The famous wangfujing district is right at the back of this hotel. An added attraction is a daily buffet breakfast (not included in Agoda booking) for just about 20 yuan. Do try a small dumpling restaurant just across the hotel and a local restaurant right next named after Mao. Service both by the front desk crew and housekeeping is very good.

I stayed in this hotel with my family last December (2012) and although the location is excellent, really very near the Forbidden City and the shopping street, they charged me a deposit when I arrived and, when I left the hotel, they swore to me they had cancelled the deposit, but they had not. So I payed twice for the room. Therefore, be very careful with them, because they do not speak any English and they are nor very honest.

I booked a triple room . Was looking for a nice clean hotel in a great location and was more at the budget end of prices. Well this hotel ticks all the boxes. Walking distance to a number of great touristic places. The staff here are very obliging and pleasant,

Very convenient location, walking distance to Tiananmen, Forbidden City, and Wangfujing; easy to find, on the main street, car/taxi easily drop off in front of hotels, nearby bus stop. Express check in/out (even when I arrived at 3am, and leave on 5am). Very helpful staff & tour desk, some of them are English speaking, although we didn't meet any problems as I could speak Chinese. The family room is very big, sleep for 4 adult is ok (with/without extra bed), although very noisy. This is an excellent option for budget traveller who needs just a simple accommodation with a convenient location. :)

The cons: Electricity went off twice during our 4 days stay, but the staff took immediate action to repair it. Bed are big but very hard. The water flows into the bathroom floor every time we take a shower.

Room Tip: Book the family room if you want to get more space

The location is near Tiananmen Square, Forbidden city, Wangfujing market and other tourism area in Beijing. There are some restaurants located nearby the hotel, either walkable or by bus. I stayed with family in Family Room with a pretty cheap rate in the winter season. The room is spacious and clean, also the bathroom.
Wifi internet connection is available only at hotel's lobby, so I suggest to provide it in the room also.
