“Great area hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

Nice place, just don't get an old room, currently under renovation, we stayed there twice in January, the first time we got tower c rooms and it was very nice, second time around, we got tower b, old type room, not the best for Marriott. Staff very friendly and willing to help, walking distance to main train station and metro, lots of places to eat in and out of the hotel, great lobby bar.

My wife and I are staying here for the Easter weekend. We went to the spa area which is very cold and unwelcoming. The lovely girl at the reception had no english but my wife managed to make an appointment anyway. She arrived at agreed time,to be told she would have to wait 20mins?She cancelled and was given no apology or explanation. This is a great hotel, and we have stayed here several times, but the spa was poor service

This is still a good location & nice quality Marriott...but they have removed all discounts for platinum members on food, laundry, etc. I will not go back - Beijing Northeast Marriott is better quality & service and they still provide nice rewards for elite members.

I spend 3 fantastic nights at Marriott Beijing City Wall. Located 45 mins from the airport (depending n traffic, which can be very heavy and it can take up to 1.5 hrs to reach the hotel...), right next to the Beijing Railway Station.
You can easily walk to the famous Silk Market (20 mins) , 20 mins to forbidden city by cab.

Quick and efficient Check in , lovely staff (Michelle the trainee at Front Office was absolutely wonderful). Rooms are spacious and beds are Marriott style, that means HEAVEN!!!! Big bathrooms with all amenities.
Concierge staff very helpful and very good English.
I made a mistake and had a local beer in the lobby lounge for which I paid around 10$, that's ridiculous, I found the beer outside in a drug store for 0.50 pence...hotel management please review your prices...

Gym and pool awesome !! Great facilities and helpful staff.

Fantastic hotel, highly recommended !!

Had a chance to live in Marriott Beijing City Wall for three nights with a tour. We are a family of 4 with two young children. Heard great things from family members. Did not disappoint as the room was spacious enough for the family with two double beds. We were very comfortable, and the staff were courteous. The best part of the hotel was the buffet breakfast that offer authentic Chinese and Western cuisine. There were many varieties to choose from, with a good range of fruits. It is the best breakfast buffet from all the other hotels we stayed in for our tour in China. The location was close to the main attractions in Beijing, and is convenient. Very reasonable for the price. Amenities a pool services are available and easily accessible.

Midst Beijing's overwhelming noise, traffic, and air pollution , the hotel is a true traveler's oasis. The facility is immacualtely clean, and offers first rate personal service from staff, despite some language issues. The rooms are very well appointed - above the level found in many Marriott properties in the US. For breakfast you will find an incredible array of choices from an enormous buffet operation - appealing to Westerners as well as those from China. Other on-site restaurants are quite good, and pricing is appealing. We found it better and esier to eat on-site after spending a long day dealing with the vagaries of moving about in Beijing.

Room Tip: Get on a high floor!

The breakfast is good but not really WOW...when I woke up the next day, my television program wasnt unexpectedly working, so immediately I called the guest service to get it fixed but after half an hour the engineering staff wasnt able to resolve it and the guest service team told me...that the whole hotel was having trouble with TV programs which I found it strange for a 5 star hotel. Thus, I decided to have breakfast hoping that TV should be back to normal but then it remained unresolved and the guest service was sort of lacking an apologetic gesture or follow up update. It felt like you take in the circumstance and you leave the hotel. On the other hand the concierge team was very efficient and helpful in my need and inquiries. A little reminder, if you are not enrolled in their loyalty membership, then you need to pay for your internet access which is unacceptable and crop because almost all hotels and even hostels are offering complimentary wi-fi service.
