I stayed here with a group and found it to be a very pleasant place, I'd completely recommend it and if your stay is as good as mine was, you'll find Beijing to be a very memorable place.

Conveniently located hotel in the Commercial Business District, though as it is surrounded by Beijing's gridlocked traffic allow more time than you ever thought possible to get anywhere. Very efficiently run, with an excellent breakfast choice in the pleasant coffee shop. Clean, with a good room. Important to be at the back of the hotel to avoid disturbance from the road. Bathroom had a powerful shower over the bath though it was showing some wear and tear. Overall a good experience and recommended.

JianGuo is in an EXCELLENT location. You are near the China world trade Centre, Tian'an'men Square, Walking street (WanFuJing), the Silk Market, and 2 Starbucks locations.

The rooms are large, bathrooms clean, and bed satisfactory (unless you are accustomed to Chinese hard mattresses).
The staff are helpful and speak a decent amount English.
It is difficult to get a taxi from this hotel (wait times between 15 min - 40 min, depending on time of day).

For the price, it is a good quality hotel. My colleagues often stay here or at Traders (1 block away).

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Book a room on the Business floor for cocktails and snacks. 2 level rooms are nice and have a balcon...

Good location for business - world trade center just a block away. Good breakfast with a lot of choice. Wire and wireless Internet in the room, good room service. I was quite surprised when a woman from massage salon in the hotel offered much more then just massage... In my opinion it shouldn't be like that in 4 star hotel.

This is a great choice for a Beijing Hotel. The rooms are a good size with staff who are very friendly and have a good command of English. The beds, like all Chinese beds, are hard but very comfortable with great pillows. The air conditioning is efficient and reasonably quiet. The water garden is great and it is lovely to have breakfast looking out at the garden. The breakfast was excellent.

Another plus was the balcony in our room and it was lovely to sit out and look at the lights of the buildings around. For a city centre location it was amazingly quiet. For a city centre hotel the swimming pool was a bonus.

I have been to this hotel several time since ten years back.
The hotel is not a new building but kept in pretty good conditions.
Most of the ground level rooms do have a small patio with access to a water / rock garden that is nice when you are back from a busy day and want to have a bit of relax.
All other rooms are of reasonable size while rooms at club floor are designed on two levels with bedrooms at the upper level.
Restaurants are nothing special although clean and with pretty responsive staff.
What is most important about this hotel is the location. If you have business downtown Beijing (let's say between 2nd and 3rd ring roads) this is a good hotel as it is located along the Janguomenweidajie and very close to a subway station.

Room Tip: avoid rooms facing the main road that might be noisy

If your like me and don't like high rise chain hotels then this is the place to stay in Beijing. It is a good hotel with friendly helpful staff and excellent breakfast. There is somewhere to store your bicycles (still the best way to get around independantly in Beijing) and close to leafy parks for cool morning walks. there is a pool to wash off the heat of a Beijing summer.

Room Tip: Rooms with a garden suite are best.
