It's a real buget hotel if you go for a room without any window. With the same price you will get a hotel nearby at the 1st airport express station with window (checked with HRS). If you spend more you will get very nice rooms with windows. The hallways are very dark but the rooms are clean. English isn't the strenght of the reception but they are trying there best to inform you about things they can't do (google translator). The tour price to the Great Wall booked in the hotel was avarage. The breakfirst is lower avarage (price 25RMP). Coffee is a hot dark fluid and the orange juice is orange. Don't be late for breakfirst they don't refill. Don't trust the taxi drivers the subway station is nearby (~500m). From the airport to the hotel it cost you by subway 27RMP without bargaining. Taxi drivers try to get 200RMP from the end station of the express airport subway to the hotel.

Room Tip: Don't go for the buget room if you like windows ;-).

well, writing a review for this hotel can be controversial i have to admit as it is really a little strange, but i like it actually. in this central area of beijing, there are quite few hotels at this price. if you go for the budget room, you have no window in the room - so if you have problems with claustrofoby just don't go there.but if you are in beijing for a weekend of fun and just want to have a place to sleep that is central, good to reach and on budget it is a really good choice. i actuallt liked the lightframe inside the room with the beijing picture clued on...(as in exchance for a non existing window haha)

The hallways are very dark, almost eerie, with odd, retro-like wallpaper and pulsating music playing 24/7. If it's true that this place used to be a nightclub, it makes sense, because it has that kind of vibe, but a tacky nightclub and a bit quirky, not one with class or elegance. Every night, someone walked up and down the halls sliding business cards for exotic massages under all the room doors. Any security here? None apparent, and not a place for a family to stay. Room was dark, windowless, cramped and depressing, which as bad as it sounds, was still better than the annoying odor, which was a combination of tobacco smoke and cleaning fluids. Couldn't make an outgoing telephone call during my entire stay in spite of repeated attempts. Couldn't access internet either, so I had to walk down the street to the Hard Rock Cafe and get something to eat every time I wanted to go online. The cost of doing this exceeded the savings of staying at this hotel. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and tried hard, even though communication was very difficult due to language barriers. The room was basically clean. Behind the hotel is a long riverwalk that gives a very pretty local (non-tourist) glimpse of Beijing. There are some terrific hotels in the neighborhood with excellent food, such as the Kempinski. But the FX is not one of these hotels. I would strongly advise paying a little more and staying at a better place. This was not a pleasant stay.
