We stayed here as part of a tour of China. It was very comfortable and a nice sized room with good sized beds. We were provided with complimentary hot cookies on arrival and a complimentary shopping bag and complimentary bottled water (which is very useful as you cannot drink the tap water). On the day we left it was approx 6am, so they provided a boxed breakfast for us to take with us.
Altogether a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The staff was very hospitable & courteous. The food was awesome and overall the stay was very comfortable. Luckily it snowed during my stay in Beijing and it was indeed a pleasure to see the 1st floor garden completed plastered in white. The banquet was also huge. The bed was very cosy and the rooms very clean.

My girlfriend and I stayed here as part of a tour of china, we we're welcomed with 2 cookies each (a nice touch) and got a room with a great view. This hotel was built in 2010 and the newness is a great benefit the lifts are smooth and fast, the carpets are new and fresh plus everything is modern and works. There is a shutter on the glass walled bathroom! The breakfast has a vast array of English, continental, American and Chinese styled food so you should be able to find something to suit your tastes. Money can be changed at reception which is handy and the decor is funky, I would recommend this place, and found it superior to hiltons in the uk.

We stayed here for four nights during the month of July. It was very hot and humid in Beijing and it was overcast by what the Chinese call the 'summer sky,' a grey smog-like sky with no clouds, blue sky or sun! The staff spoke English and were very courteous. The waitresses in the restaurant were lovely and used to hover round our table so that they could practice their English! Our double bedroom was large and comfortable. Internet was available in the room for a small price by attaching a USB cable. There is quite a large rooftop green garden and a large glass enclosed swimming pool with loungers and chairs around the pool. Towels are available from attendents as you enter. Unfortunately the pool water was not heated and it was very cold! Such a shame. Breakfast was buffet style and catered for all nationalities. Plenty of food. The restaurant in the evening offered meals in small, medium and large portions which suited me as I'm not a big eater. They were reasonably priced. An enjoyable stay.

This is a comfortable hotel and I would suggest about 4 stars, certainly not more than that. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is nice, but the rooms are dated.

There is no wifi in the hotel rooms and can only be accessed on the ground floor in restaurant areas.

Toilets block very easily so be extra careful with quantity when flushing toilet paper.

Appearance of the rooms are clean on the surface and the hotel foyer/lobby is immaculate.

Allow enough time for journeys between destinations in Beijing as the traffic is a nightmare... Can take a hour and a half to travel 12km in a taxi. Thankfully, taxis are extremely cheap.

The hotel appears to be used by numerous Tour Companies, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed in the hotel if you are part of a multi city tour. The staff were professional and helpful, many speaking English, however some of the reception staff had only a limited understanding of English. The hotel is clean, the room I had was a good size, with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. I had a room to the east side of the hotel overlooking a Square and a small shopping centre on the far side, very little noise coming from the street. The bed was firm and comfortable; the bathroom was a good size; shower only – no long soak in the tub after a long day! The bedroom and bathroom are separated by clear glass; however there is an electronic blind which can be lowered if so desired.

The breakfast was of a very good selection, a buffet with a selection of food to cater for every national taste.

One evening we dined in the restaurant on the 3rd floor, excellent! We went for the Peking duck and a couple of other dishes, “thank you” to Susie, the waitress for the superb recommendations and the excellent service.

The hotel bar price was approx £4 for a small bottle of Tsing Tao (Beer), £6 for glass of wine. Local supermarket prices 27p – 37p per beer £2 per bottle of wine!

The hotel is in the same building block as a department store, shops and several restaurants. There are other restaurants and a bar or two in the area; not that easy to find but they are there!

We got a suite on the 26th floor. It had a separate living room, kitchenette with electric stove and microwave, bathtub, and access to the executive lounge and its amenities (breakfast, beverages, and happy hour). Upon arrival, we checked in at lounge on the 21st floor and were welcomed with a warm cookie and choice of beverage.

On the backside of the hotel, there is a shopping mall, a bakery, and a grocery store. Across the street were several restaurants and even one that is 24 hours (you can point at the pictures and place your order; they have different selections of inexpensive and filling rice bowls). If you are adventurous, you can also visit the vendors selling food on the street within a 2-block radius: grilled / fried vegetables, meats, fish balls, and fresh greenhouse grown giant strawberries.

One thing that could have been better that is out of the control of the hotel was its location. It is not located in a tourist area and you would need to take a taxi to get into downtown. Since we were only in Beijing for a short stay, waiting around for a bus to take us to the subway was not an option – it cost us 23 RMB to go from Wangfujing Street area back to the hotel. As in any major city, allow extra time when traveling during rush hour.

I wanted to say thank you to Feancis (bell desk) for his help during our stay. When we arrived in Beijing our luggage did not make it and we had to wait until the next evening's flight for our bags to possibly arrive and get delivered by the airline. It was 11pm the next day and we still haven't heard anything, so I went downstairs to get someone to help me Feancis (trainee) was great - he took up my cause and was very persistent in calling the various phone numbers for the airline to resolve my problem. This was the first time he had encountered this problem; we tried for a long time it turned out that the airline offices were already closed hours earlier. I had given up and went back to the room, dreading the next day in a foreign city without our luggage when it arrived at 2am. For me, I think it was because Feancis called and kept trying to find out where the luggage was and persuaded the airline to make the delivery that night. He saved our trip! Thank goodness we didn't have to go to Mutianyu Great Wall the next day in the snow without our winter coats. I feel that Feancis is a valuable asset to the hotel and I'm sure he will pass his training with flying colors and become an important part of the establishment. Thank you Doubletree Hilton Beijing, keep up the good job!
