Nice place for evening drinks.
Staff speaks good English.
Live music was good. Great Cocktails- would recommend Mojito.
The bar is great, as well as the balcony where you can enjoy drinks / food.
Will come back again.,

Stay here for 2 days for business. Upon checking in, I am impressed by the layout of the room. The open shower and bath tub concept and overall lighting simply makes me feel comfortable the moment I stepped in. The metro is just below the hotel and you can go to anywhere easily if you do not want to take the taxi. Silk street is also within walking distance.

The front desk is on the 66 floor and breakfast is on the 69. Glass roof and a Panaromic view of the city if you get lucky.

I stayed for a week in the Park Hyatt, so I was able to get a comprehensive feel for the place. Overall, very good. It operates at an international standard - which is a big deal in Beijing. Sometimes in Beijing you have to lower your service standards to maintain your sanity, thankfully you don't do that at the Park Hyatt. It is quite a bit pricier than similar options in Beijing, but delivers what you would expect at that price and a little more.

The good:
- Room was very nice: designed tastefully and had great amenities. Blackout curtains, no noise leakage from other rooms and a very comfortable bed meant a restful sleep every night.

- Service was friendly and available. Staff would do their best to make sure you were happy. Sometimes it took quite a while to deliver on your requests, but by and large I felt like I was looked after very well.

- Gym & pool facilities were excellent. The pool was particularly memorable: great views of the city while you're swimming, and you can relax in one of the jacuzzis afterwards. I think the hotel locker room showers were better than the ones in the hotel rooms.

The bad:
- Difficult to get a taxi here. In general, Beijing is a terrible place for taxi transportation, but the slightly hidden nature of the hotel entrance made it very difficult to get a taxi. Don't bother asking hotel staff, just go on the main road and hail your own.

- Restaurant (China Grill) was very average. The food was fine - breakfast is very underwhelming with limited options and dinner was adequate. Not bad, but not great. If the prices were lower then I suppose my expectations would follow suit, but for the price, China Grill wasn't worth it. Same goes for the bar (China Bar). Slow service, slightly above-average drinks for very above-average prices.

This was my second stay at this Park Hyatt, it is on par with its counterparts in Western countries. My one gripe is the small fitness center can be crowded in the morning, so arrive early. The hotel is now a few years old and some minor signs of age are evident in the rooms such as wear on the the doors, wall and floors. But the excellent service and top quality design of the hotel make up for these minor imperfections.

The lay out of this hotel is a little eccentric. You take an elevator from the ground floor to the 63rd floor lobby. A different bank of elevators take you down to the bedrooms and the gym. And a third set of elevators take you from the 63rd floor to the restaurant and bar on the 65th and 66th floor.

The hotel corridors are all mood lighting and done up in quite restful and tasteful browns and beiges. The rooms are well appointed, controlled by electronics which are reasonably user friendly. The beds are comfortable...firm but not hard. The large bath is set in a somewhat open plan aspect, partly behind glass and partly open to the rest of the bedroom. The adjacent shower absolutely drenches you. Recommended.

The gym is quite well equipped, but too warm. The China Grill on the top floor is a multi-level warren of a restaurant which was very good for dinner, but fairly ordinary for breakfast. Service was friendly but slow - except reception which was very efficient.

The views are good on those days when you can see beyond the next building.

This is a good business hotel without feeling at all corporate

On arrival we went first to the 6th floor bar which also has an outdoor deck area. To gain entrance customers have to pass through an airport style security detector. The security woman was incredibly rude. Whilst I fully appreciate secuity is important there is basic common courtesey of which this woman did not possess one solitary ounce.

As the music (live band and not particuarly good) was incredibly loud we decamped up to the Grill bar on the upper floor which provided the most stunning views across Beijing. The service was slow, unfriendly and settling the bill took an eternity.

As an international hotel chain Hyatt Management do really need to address customer service. We would have stayed longer but the surely staff put us off.

We had the great fortune to stay when the city wasn't emersed in dense smog, so from the start the views from the lobby on the 65th floor are impressive - you can see all the way to the mountains. The room (we stayed in a suite) was beautiful, good views, large living area, power blinds, wonderful bathtub with more than enough room for two people sitting side by side... What lets the hotel down is services, that are good but not consistently great. When asking the concierge for directions around town and where to go, it was too vague (I started the conversation by saying a wanted to talk to the concierge, and the man who then gave me help at a level I'd expect from a regular front desk staffer rather than a concierge). Prior to my arrival I had contacted the concierge to book a great wall trip and they'd been helpful, so this was disapointing. At china grill at breakfast water was not from a bottle and was included (the breakfast was good but expensive at $45 if it isn't included in your rate), yet at dinner bottled water was the only option and it was apparently $15/bottle - the price was not disclosed, and they opened the second bottle without asking which I felt was a rip off (would a restaurant bring you a $15 martini without your input and expect you to pay?). The hotel is above a subway station, which is good because the cab situation is a disaster. One night the doorman put us in three separate cabs to get us to a well known restaurant (Dadong) but had to ask us to get back out of two of them because they had a miscommunication with the driver. If the city has poor cabs, the hotel needs to expand its car service (I asked them about this after getting out the first time and it did not seem possible). The butler service provided no clear benefits, and the 15% gratuity that was added to the to room rate at check out was both overpriced and not transparent (I.e. I was not aware of it until checkout). Perhaps my expectations were too high, the hotel is beautiful but this was not quite up to the level I expected from a Park Hyatt in Asia.
