“A true journey of rest and relaxation on the Voyager..”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

We had the best and most relaxed holiday ever here to help ease me in to my 5th decade..greeted with fruit and a bottle of wine in our room it just got better as the days went on. The food was always fresh and plentiful, the drinks were delivered to your sunbed when you raised your 'red flag' and the staff were the most friendly and helpful folks I have ever encountered on our travels. Special thanks to Margaret at the Quiet Pool (drink delivered with some great banter!!) and Winnie and Rebecca who welcomed us with a smile at the main dining room and snack bar. Also the trio of musicians at the Smuggler Cove..the wee souls sang their hearts out in broken English and really made my night :-)
Don't miss the massage (to the sound of the Indian Ocean) and the glass bottom boat trip..it is worth running the gauntlet of Beach salesmen who, lets face it, are only trying to make a living even if they are a bit pesky..Oh and the Mombasa Rendezvous safari was excellent too... a big thanks to Ali our guide for the 4 bumpy days of wildlife spotting!

Room Tip: we were in room 1323 which had a nice side view of the sea and was quite peacful

First time in Kenya. What a beautiful country, lovely people and the voyager was the icing on the cake. We had a lovely week here in October and can't wait to return.
The food was plentiful and available when ever you wanted it really. We were always served with a smile. Infact all the staff went out of their way for you. Like to say a special thank you to Jackson who cleaned our room daily, always with a smile on his face. All of the 3 pools were clean and plenty of sunbeds available. Nyali beach is beautiful and can't be missed!
Overall we had a lovely time - thanks voyager

A bit of a quandary about my review for this hotel. Given it four stars mainly for the friendliness of ALL the staff. From the elderly gentleman who pottered round the dining room cleaning surfaces, to the Operations Director who took time to walk round the grounds, asking people if they were having a good time and inviting comments, each and every one worked with a smile on their face. This really made our holiday.

The food was really good with plenty of choice and the gardens & poolside were spotlessly clean. Yes, as stated in many reviews, the rooms are a bit tired but as we only used ours to sleep in (that's a surprise then lol) we weren't too bothered and speaking to the OD he told us of the many plans to upgrade the hotel.

Our only very slight niggle was the aggravation of going onto the beach and having to run the (friendly) gauntlet of people trying to earn a living. I feel churlish about this as with 65% unemployment and no social security you really can't blame them and as mentioned, they were very friendly.

A fabulous holiday and look forward to returning in a few years to see the upgrades.

Room Tip: A sea view is highly recommended. I would suggest asking for block 4 which looks directly over the s...

Waoh Voyager is a good place to have a family vacation especially with the little ones as they have a splendid time. They have excellent staff, very friendly and their service is great. Their buffet spread is excellent for all meals from breakfast to dinner and are not overwhelmed by large numbers e.g. during peak season. Have great activities specifically designed for the kids with a very friendly team and also for the older guests. They really go out of their way to make the holiday action packed and enjoyable. Have great evening entertainment - especially enjoyed the presentations from the Animation Team - excellent work there - Kudos!!! Also enjoyed the sand. You actually get value for money spent. We will be back!

Ahoy Guests,
It is true Voyager was the first Unit to start the "Adventurers Club" dedicated to Kids and this has worked very well. The whole package is being reviewed so it improves and makes it the best place for Kids in the World.
Obviously without becoming overbearing and encroaching on the Guests who want to be a little further from children.
This has worked because of the three pools concept, and the fact that our rooms per acre is lower than in other places where a Hotel seating on our land can have as many as 350 rooms. we have only 236, so we have killed the Railway station mentality
So glad you came.

This is the only place to stay in Mombasa! After completing a months hard work in the local community I shouted myself and colleagues 4 nights at voyager, I could have stayed forever. Thee are nightly shows, the pools, water sports, spa, and daily buffets are outstanding. You cannot fault the staff, they are fabulous and will do anything to assit. One of the best resorts I've has the fortune to visit. Will return again.

Room Tip: Try everything!

The hotel is very big, but safe. The beach is ok, not great, but with lots of salesman on it that will bug you a lot to buy their stuff. The food was ok, not great, but you won't go hungry for sure. The drinks are weak, so talking to bartender has its advantages. The pools are nice, but the water could be warmer. The rooms were decent, but could be renovated.
Overall it was a good experience, but if I go back to Mombasa I would try another hotel.

Room Tip: There are many buildings, so pick the one closest to your needs: restaurant, beach, adults pool, bar...

We booked this last minute, the night before we travelled, so we were a little 'nervous' about what we might find. But we needn't have worried, from the moment we arrived to the time we left everything was just right.

Clean, great food (and good choice), lots of variety and the staff were so very friendly and helpful - a great place to visit and chillax!

We had a room overlooking the relaxation pool and the Indian Ocean. So, it was very quiet. Each morning we would open our balcony door and wake up to the sound of the sea.

The only ever-so-slight negative, which is nothing to do with the actual hotel, was the beach - if you do venture onto the beach local beach boys and vendors will try and sell you something (but to be honest, if you're polite and firm, they will leave you alone).

Simply put we found just what we needed - a relaxing, quiet, good quality environment where everything was catered for - all we had to do was ... nothing!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the dining area are much quieter

Hello Guest,
So glad you came and enjoyed. I notice you are from Kakamega. It is so nice we Kenyans are now taking time to visit and see our won country.
Kenya is a country of diversity and there is so much to see everywhere. The Kakamega Forests, The Weeping stones of Vihiga County, The Wonderful Tea-lands of Kericho, The Snows of Mount Kenya, The scenic beauty of driving to Loitoktok, the wonderful migration of Maasai Mara and ofcourse the pristine beaches of Mombasa.
So glad we are now seeing what God gave us.
