just returned from this hotel...found the food not too good the same stuff repeated quite a lot..and sometimes it was cold...you also seem to spend a lot of time waiting on the waiters so always quicker going to the bar yourself...our room was nice and clean...but did hear other people moaning about their rooms not getting cleaned properly..plus plenty of battles going on for sun beds...people must have being up all night trying to reserve the same beds....also did see some prostitutes getting brought in to the hotel..over all you get what you pay for....would i go back..... no.....the country is brill and plenty to do and i will be going back but not to this hotel...this is my oppinion....some people were raving about the hotel..not everyone is the same...had a great safari with a fantastic guide booked over there...can supply his details if anyone wants them.....safe and secure...feel free to contact me if you need anymore info

Room Tip: we had room 309 with the best veiw

I had a really good trip and I really enjoyed my stay, the location was really good and the distance from the beach was amazing, you walked out of the hotel onto the beach which was really good. As well as that the pool was large and kept really clean! Ernest the cleaner that we had in our room was really friendly and we had a really good waiter as well.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 204 which wasn't the quietest side of the hotel at night since it was a room wh...

A dump of a place, poor standards of hygiene as flies were all over the food, we walked out after we were shown our rooms were the toilets hadn't been cleaned properly. Very low standards. But the location was great

Stayed here few time from 2001 to 2011, will definitely return. Wonderful staff, great owners, fantastic pool, good food, lovely beach. oh and fitness and body massaging - fantastic. Beach boys are only trying to earn a living and, they can save you a lot of money booking safaris, boat trips etc

this was my second stay at this hotel, Like car_stu I e-mailed Mary at the hotel reception and was able to choose my room, same as last visit in February. All the staff are very warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. I also received welcome back cards, even from the Dhow crew as I did return trip which I booked on the beach with Moses and Hudson - great guys.
Can't wait to get back as I have made many friends over there. There is so much to do, I did an air safari to Masai Mara - booked with first choice rep. I travelled solo for both trips this year and was very well looked after both by hotel staff and Moses, Hudson, Getrude and Stella, they took me ro their homes to meet family and to local school where I off-loaded pens and pencils galore. Well done Bamburi, see you all soon

Room Tip: I chose second floor room 220 which was cleaned every day to a great standard. No bath, only a showe...

this was our 4th stay at the bamburi beach hotel. we were given a very warm welcome by every-one. I e-mailed the hotel a couple of weeks before we arrived and asked for room 231, which we have had on previous occassions. we had friut put in our room and a welcome back card both before and after our safari. the animation team work very hard at the activities and i played scrabble several times in the afternoon with veronica, she's getting very good. I went snorkling for the first time with Bruno(he's very good and made me feel safe) and Eddie from the dive centre at the hotel, i enjoyed the first time so much i went a seocnd time a couple of days before we came home.
we had already booked our safari in england before travelling, but also booked a 2day, 1 night safari to Ngulia wih James (Brown) of smile tours down on the beach and had a fantastic time. we have made so many friends here at bamburi and down on the beach it makes it hard when the time to say good-bye comes. all that is left to say after such a fantastic holiday is roll on next year WE'LL BE BACK!!!

Room Tip: we have always had a room on the left side of the hotel with a sea view and over looking the main po...
