What a surprise. This place is a hidden jewel. Not only for its delies, the cakes, the bakery etc, but because of its food. Loacated in grounds of a Mall, it is very alive hot spot for the area. people come and go. Its wine list containes treasures such as the chilean red "Gato Negro"... Prices within reason. Service great and if one is lucky as me, one may bump on a very nice duet of musicians ( Saxo and Quitar) who perform sweet slow jazz songs

Cafesserie provides pretty good food from a reasonably varied menu at reasonable prices: chicken, prawns, steak, all the usual fare for the area. The decor is lifted by a huge array of wine and spirit bottles, running from floor to ceiling up one wall. Two things are worth special mention: an interesting range of wines by the glass (AND a wine of the month), not just the usual unnamed red or white; secondly the staff are properly trained to be friendly, efficient, and helpful. Worth more than a single visit.

Cafesserie makes the best bread on the coast. I regularly travel up from Diani just to buy some. That said the restaurant is in a league of it's own. The food is delicious and the choice is such that you will be sitting there for a while trying to decide just what to have. Tip: go with other people so that you can try theirs.
It is always busy so you may have to wait for a table.
The perfect place for a lunch break.

The atmosphere at Cafesserie changes from morning coffeetime through lunch, to early evening sundowners and bitings, to dinner.. But everytime of day, this welcome addition to Mombasa delivers with its friendly staff; quality fare or modern comfortable surroundings. THE place to meet with friends, bump into old friends or even sit alone. How on earth did Mombasa manage without Cafesserie?
