This is my second time staying at Fig Tree Camp, and will deffinately not be my last ! I stayed in one of the beautiful tents, just next to the river. The tents contains two lovely beds, a wardrobe to hang the clothes and a lovely bathroom, with shower, toilet and sink. The tent got cleaned every day while we were making our morning gamedrive, and coming back from evening gamedrive the beds were made ready and moscito nets put down, everything was very nicely done. Every morning and every evening it was possible to get hot showers.
The staff at the camp is very very friendly, right from the manager, the waiters, the drivers and the cleaners and will do anything to make the clients happy.
I spent 3 nights at Figg Tree Camp, and saw around 52 different lions, a leopard, a cheetah, wilderbeasts, buffalos, girafs, elephants, Thompson gazelles, impalas, jackals, hyenas, elands, topis, all the animals you can wish for, and my driver Paul and the guide Dominic, put all their effort into fullfilling my wishes of finding specific animals to see. I did the ballonsafari too, and it was really a fantastic experience worth trying.
The food at the camp was very fine, with quite a good variety. Some days we brought picnic breakfast to eat on our drive, and we would not waste precious time going back to the camp for breakfast.
I can dearly recommend Figg Tree Camp to anyone who wants to have some great experiences at Maasai Mara, see a lot of animals, meet a variety of nice, kind and friendly people.
Hopefully I will be able to go back once every year.

Stayed in the tented accommodations which was beautiful. Each tent is attached to its own goid sized en suite bathroom containing shower, toilet and sink area. The tent area was equipped with a queen and a double bed. Beautiful furniture and bed coverings. It felt like a beautiful hotel room but that the fresh air could spill into the space which I loved. Our tent was located directly across from a river which separated the wild animals from resort.

Food was very good with lots lots of variety, which was great considering the remote area.

Cabin accommodation is available here too but I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't opt for the well appointed tents. We wo J e up daily with the honking wildebeasts drinking water from the river and in the evening the most amazing subsets can be viewed right from your own tent.

Camp is patrolled by authentic massa Mara men with their clubs and the main access to resort is crossing a large fixed walking bridge over the river which was amazing.

Daily safaris did not disappoint and we did partake partake in hot air balloon with champagne breakfast and though beautiful view I later regretted going something so commercialized while I I was there. It looked like an non local owned the business business so I en feed how much people and animals in area were affected by this consumerism.

It was a dream being here and my best 4 nights i had spent in Kenya!

We were scheduled to spend a couple of days at Keekorok lodge but were moved to Fig Tree at the last minute because the government requisitioned Keekorok for a meeting. We enjoyed staying in the tents, which are right on the river. We could hear the hippos frolicking at night outside our tent. The food was fine with good variety. We had an extraordinary game drive with a Masai who gave his name as Nixon and an ok game drive the next morning. We mainly enjoyed, however, relaxing in the camp. We were most impressed with the attentiveness of the staff, who were always helpful but not obtrusive. We went back through Keekorok, and although we were impressed, we were pleased we had ended up at Fig Tree.

Room Tip: get a tent on the river rather than a cabin

We did not stay at the camp but it looked beautiful. We took a sunrise balloon safari through the Fig Tree Camp. I was hesitant to take the flight as it was expensive ($420 pp). However, it was worth it. The views from the balloon were fantastic. It was so peaceful. Captain Ray did a great job of finding animals. It was so exciting to see herds of giraffe, buffalo, and elephants from above! The champagne breakfast was wonderful. We relaxed and ate a delicious breakfast out of doors served by an accommodating and friendly staff.

We stayed here for 3 nights, arranged by Hamisi at Ringo safaris, which meant that our game drives were organised by the hotel and used their staff. Dominic, our masai moran and Sammy, the driver, were excellent. They were informative, knowledgable, keen and friendly - a pleasure to meet. The 4x4 was good, and other than 2 game drives, we had the vehicle to ourselves which was brilliant. We saw everything, and again, thought we had seen a highlight, lions and cubs, cheetah eating it's kill, male lions with manes, 3 x cheetahs, shy rhino, leopards x 3, 2 males arguing over a female - and so many others, FANTASTIC.
Lodge - okay, cleaner was very good, and tent experience was okay, more like a chalet really. View was good, we had a view over the river, and saw baby crocs basking on the shoreline, and a hippo bathing in the river, all from the balcony of our room, which was brilliant. Resident cevit cats were interesting. Staff were friendly and okay. Again, some guests were noisy, rude and overbearing, especially at night, when we wanted to retire early. Food was okay, buffet style. I was bitten by a mossie, even though I had sprayed, but I was sitting on the balcony, at night, overlooking the river - so not unexpected really.
Overall, would return and would recommend.

Spending 4 nights at fig tree camp we can only sing the praises of the camp, its manager and its staff. Our main reason for visiting the mara was to see the animals of the area in their natural environment , this we achieved with the expertise of our fantastic driver and guide, Nicson and Sammi. We cannot praise them enough and have returned home with memories that will last for ever. The camp accommodation is perfect, nestling in the bush, with a varied menu and a our attentive waiter Nelson who was always cheerful and happy to hear how our day had gone! All the staff whether behind the bar or on security were friendly and efficient and the whole fig tree experience was something we shall never forget, thank you!!!
