Pick up from airport the Safari started. River crossing with great driver was already an experience. Highly professional. My wife is easily scared, but this was a good test for us how good the organisation is.
The reception at location was very nice and although the wheather was not good we had a great stay.
Game driving was fantastic, unspoiled and we did not come across any other vehicle.

My husband and I were at Rekero in early September this year with a group of 11 friends from Santa Fe, NM. It was one of two camps we visited during our 10 day safari experience in Kenya, and all the positive things said by other reviewers are absolutely true. The setting of Rekero, along a river, is beyond beautiful, but the best part is knowing that the animals are so close by......when sleeping in our tents each night, we couldn't wait to hear hippos or cape buffalo or ?? munching on the grasses surrounding us......we always felt safe with guards on duty all night.....as we were snugly "zipped into our comfy tents". During our two game drives each day, we saw all the wonders of the Mara......we saw so many animals, we can't imagine that we missed anything! The guides staff, and managers of Rekero couldn't have been nicer, the food was excellent, and we highly recommend this camp to all who are looking for a great adventure. We hope to return for another visit!

Room Tip: We think all the tents are pretty much alike. Ours was tent #2 and we were very pleased....as long...

I stayed at Rekero with my three children and it couldn't have been better. They took such great care of all of us, it made the stay incredible. One afternoon, I was with my kids in the common area and watched three lionesses capture a wildebeest right in the river below us. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful.

Early in September I stayed in Rekero Camp together with my girlfriend. We were on our 10 years honeymoon.

This camp has amazed us from day one. Whatever you may need, you don't even need to ask for it. It's there.

Staff was extremely friendly. They gave us a safe feeling, which reassured us since we were sleeping in thé Masai Mara Park between (toghether with) thé wild animals. More than once we had a wild animal such as, buffalo, elephant, giraf, lion or hippo in thé camp!

Our Guide John was superb! He is by far thé best guide we had throughout our journey in Kenya.

Special thanks as wel to Clea who did everything to make our stay memorable. And she achieved this with such a professionalisme and still a familiar touch.

This Camp is a must do when you visit Kenya. If we ever go back to Kenya, it will be to this camp.

Rekero is a great combination of authenticity and creature comfort. Rooms are decorated beautifully and attention is paid to every detail. While the tented rooms are a bit more on the rustic side than those in some camps (i.e., no running water), they do have hot "bucket" showers, flush toilets and artistically decorated sinks. Clea, Conway and the rest of the staff were fantastic and very enjoyable to spend time with. The camp's location is quite beautiful, and like others have commented, you can see wildlife and many amazing sights right from the lunch table and from your tent. We had a hippo who resided in the river outside of our tent and we loved listening to him as we fell asleep. Another plus of this camp that surprised us is that each couple had their own private vehicle and the same guide throughout the stay. That doesn't happen in many camps. I think our favorite part of the trip though, was our interaction with our Masai guide, Martin. He was bright, inquisitive and very knowledgeable. What we were most impressed with was that he was amazingly in-tune with, and held a deep affection for, his homeland and the wildlife he shares it with. We very much appreciate learning about his wonderful culture as well as the animals. More than just a safari, Rekero was an experience.

I stayed at Rekero as part of a group trip hosted by Jonathan Scott and Warren Samuels. We took the entire camp and so had the run of the place and their complete attention. The location, right by a river, was amazing! We were able to watch crossings (and even kills) from our lunch table in the shade of the trees. Food was tasty and plentiful and service was warm and attentive with nothing too much trouble. The highlight of our stay was a bush dinner by the campfire. The tents were comfortable and the evening hot water bottles and morning tea were special touches. I understand the tents are gradually being upgraded so I expect they'll be even nicer in future. And as for the game viewing, what can I say? We saw so many animals, including my personal favourite, leopards on every drive, it is hard to remember them all. I'd definitely recommend this camp, it's size and location make it truly special. And if you ever get the chance to travel with Jonathan or Warren (or even both) then leap at the chance!

Rekero is simply fabulous. We have had the good fortune to travel to the Masi Mara several times, each time we have been it has been a different experience. Whilst there are many places to stay in The Mara, our recent stay at Rekero has quite simply given us an easy choice to make when we next visit. Rekero is authentic, personal, private and incredibly comforting. The tents themselves are as you would expect in a luxury camp and more. All essentials are provided for in a truly stunning setting on the banks of the Talek River. However, it is not the tents that sets Rekero apart, it is the staff and management. From the personal welcome and greeting on arrival to the fabulous dining experiences on offer, the 'people' at rekero really do make your stay memorable. The management team of Clea and Conway run and manage an amazing team of individuals from driver guides to freindly daily faces around the camp. You even feel the passion of the staff that work behind the scenes to make your stay a truly authentic safari experience. From a game viewing perspective REkero is perfectly located. Close to the Mara River and equally close to forested areas and plains, teh viweing opportunites are literally on your door step. On this particular stay we even had Cheetah within a eye shot of where we had lunch on the banks of the Talek. Rekero is highly recommended to anyone, regardless if you are first time Safari goers or indeed the seasoned Safari enthusiasts. A truly suberb experience and well done the entire team for maiking our stay the most enjoyable to date. We will be returning soon!
