Last month I had the pleasure of celebrating my 70th birthday on safari at Little Mara Bush camp. I traveled alone and had the most wonderful time anyone can imagine....ladies, if you have any reservations of going on safari alone please get in touch with Sunworld Safaris and plan your stay at Little Mara Bush Camp. The food and accommodations are over the top, but what makes a safari is the safari itself...the vehicles are new, clean, comfortable...able to cross rivers and mud bogs, and my guide...Sammy...made the whole experience come together. We found amazing animals every day and he explained their habits, learned about the Masai people and was able to answer any question I had. Sammy...you are the best! I went there with very high expectations and was not disappointed! I also like and respect how the camp is run Eco friendly and takes good care of our intrusions on the amazing land it occupies.

Excellent , well furnished elevated tents , felt like home. Food was good , Chef was very accommodating and staff very friendly. Thanks Michela and the Manager for all your assistance.

Little Mara Bush Camp is a very exclusive site with 12 Tents , quite a perosnalized service. It is 5 minutes from the Olkiombo airstrip. Though a little pricey , but worth the experience. It is a child friendly camp also. I had my 2 1/2 year daughter who really enjoyed the wilderness , it has no boundary.A pool would be an added advantage for the future.

Would recommend this Camp for any local or overseas Tourist

Room Tip: Facing the River near the Hippo point

The new tented-camp “Little Mara Bush Camp” is different from the “normal” Mara Bush Camp. The camp is not smaller, but more exclusive. The tents are huge and really luxurious: a kingsize double- and single bed and a well equipped bathroom, a huge balcony with view on the hippo-pool … Just amazing! The manager, Michela, is very friendly and tries to help everywhere. The food is good, but for this type of luxurious camp, I expected more variation. This point needs to be fixed asap! As expected in the bush, there is no internet available, witch is a good point (I hope it will stay in the future).

Room Tip: Room 6 or "Ibis" is located in front of the hippo pool! During the day it is great to see, during the night you hear them aswel ... We loved it!

I stayed 6 days at Little Mara Bush Camp in September 2013, and absolutely loved it. It is slightly more upmarket than it's neighbouring sister camp, Mara Bush Camp, and the additional money is well worth it. Both camps are very small, with only a dozen tents each. Both are set along a hippo-filled river, but the tents in Little Mara Bush Camp are even larger and more luxurious than at Mara Bush Camp. The food here is superb, and the staff and service are fabulous. Every member of staff does their best to make you feel part of the family. The manager, Michela, is an absolute treasure as well, and made our stay truly memorable.

Room Tip: All tents are excellent

Having been to the Maasai Mara several times before, and having been to the Mara Bush Camp two years ago, we were curious to see Sunworld Safari's latest "baby" - the Little Mara Bush Camp. Amazingly, the team has created yet another paradise in the wilderness, with a small number of spacious, tastefully decorated luxury tents, situated alongside a river full of hippos (the hippo deck is a must to relax and simply watch), far enough apart to give you all the privacy you need. The Sunworld team has really made an effort, in every little detail - from the fantastic (and healthy) daily fruit and vegetable juice creations to the bronze sculptures instead of numbers to indicate the tents, the relaxing hammocks outside the tents ... and a hundred other little things, too many to name them here. We immediately felt at home when we arrived, welcomed by the always very friendly and helpful staff and by the camp's very energetic and and knowledgeable Italian manager Michela. The camp is ideally situated for spotting big cats (we twice saw a leopard on our game drives, not too far away from the camp), the huge herds of wildebeests and zebras and all the other big and small treasures of the Mara, and for taking in the wonderful landscape along the river and across the Mara plains.
This time, we only had 3 nights/4 days in the Mara, but we'll certainly come back again. This place is highly recommended for those seeking a high-end, luxurious safari experience coupled with the intimacy and attention to detail of a family-run business. And - for those not wanting to enjoy the beauty (and hardship) of Kenyan roads, there is an airstrip nearby.

Room Tip: There are different types of tents - the family tents are really large; some of the tents are facing the river (hippos), some are forest view tents; some are closer to the common areas (breakfast, fire place, dining area), some are further away and give you even more privacy. Best to tell Sunworld what you want, and they will advice you.
