Fantastic three days in the heart of the wilderness of Savannah...Our tent Nr. 4 just by a small river...perfect for who likes to sleep with sound of nature!
Not to mentioned the wonderful experience of game drives with possibility of having breakfast in the wild!
Great service and great hospitality!!!

Room Tip: Tent N.4 if you want to sleep with relaxing river sound background!

We stayed at the Mara Intrepids in March 2014. It was the most amazing stay! The tents are luxurious, the food is gourmet quality, and the staff are simply amazing. Tom was our personal waiter each day and we absolutely adored him! He was so friendly, accommodating, and simply wonderful. Hi Tom! We loved meeting you! Julius was also particularly friendly, he worked on-site and was also very helpful and friendly. All the staff went out of their way to ensure you had a perfect stay.

I would return to Mara Intrepids in a minute with no hesitation. It is incredible!! You will not be disappointed!!

The entire Masai Mara Intrepid safari experience has been fabulous - it began with Leonidah's welcoming smile and information, the first real surprise was the delightful room - total luxury and beauty within a 5-star 'tent', allowing superb views and green bush or privacy, whatever I want. After dinner returning to subtle beauty, (with lamps, mosquito netting, glorious fresh sheets and warm hot water bottles) all meticulously attended to by Musa. The 'tent' is so much more exciting than staying in any other hotel and totally appropriate for the stunning environment.

The other 3 absolute highlights are:
- the 3 Safari trips each day. Matthew, our guide and driver, was incredible and completely committed to making sure we saw as many animals as possible, anticipating the animal's behaviour, explaining his approach and then tracking them. It was like he considered it his absolute responsibility to give us the best Safari experience he possibly could and the best guide I've ever met.
- Chef Tom, who cooked delicious food but also went completely out of his way to allow for my particular food requirements.
- All of the friendly, obliging, lovely staff who offer flawless service. And this includes Chief Joseph, a proud Masai, who offers daily lectures and is open to share all of his wisdom.

Overall a very highly recommended choice

Our experience with Mara Intrepids was incredible! We visited for 4 days in the first week of December.

Location:
The camp is located right in the midst of the park so we were able to see most of the Big Five in a very short period of time and could go for 3 game drives a day.

Room:
The camp is a setup of luxury tents- well maintained and have all the amenities you could need and more. Just don't expect 24 hour running water. Our bed was super comfy and our room service attendant left us hot water bottles to warm up our sheets when it got cooler at night. The room was always kept clean and presentable.

Food Service:
The food prepared under Chef Tom's supervision was a consistent A+ quality and visually appealing throughout our 4 day stay. The staff was eager to gather feedback on the meals and service. There was one particular dessert that really impressed me the most and I let 'Big' Tom know how I felt. On our last day at lunch, our server Dennis (who delivered exceptional service and has a great smile) came to the table and delivered the dessert recipe to me! I was quite touched :) Something else to keep in mind, they grow a lot of their veggies in their on location kitchen garden, they're organic!

Saving the best for last, Game Drives:

Our guide and driver was Samson, he was the best! He is a Masai himself, is very knowledgeable about the area and the animals, and knows decent English. He will take you to the best places and at ideal times to spot the animals. Samson knows his stuff and it was a real pleasure to get to know him.

Overall, our Safari experience was outstanding and extra special, thanks to the Intrepids staff!

We have previously traveled to Kenya. This trip was outstanding!! The luxury tents were five star plus. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming above and beyond our expectations. We were introduced to Tom our personal chef to accommodate our special meals required. Thanks Mr. Tom! Our guide Samson was second to none, he made every game drive unique and memorable. Anytime you ask him for anything his immediate answer was Why Not and he followed through. The photo opportunities were amazing. Thanks Samson

Room Tip: Luxury tent by the river is quaint

My husband and I have been to the Masai Mara before, staying in a lodge, and we really enjoyed it. However it was nothing like experiencing the Intrepids Tented Safari. It was a whole different experience, and I will never go back to a lodge. The tents were beautiful.
There is nothing more exciting than sleeping in the fresh night air and hearing the animals around you. But our highlight was with our safari driver, Samson. He was so knowledgeable, and always had his trusty books with him to reference anything we were unfamiliar with. He knew things off the top of his head, so much so that we started to challenge him, and once we looked it up in his reference guides, found that he was always right! Thank you Samson for making our trip to the Masai Mari the best he could hope for! We will be back, and will request Samson as our driver! "Of course, WHY NOT"!!!!!!!

My wife and I have travelled to Kenya on Safari many times in the past, this time we took our two Grandchildren aged 11 and 10. Our first priority was location, then family tents also a Safari Camp that was as we perceive a camp to be, original and not spoilt by glitz and modern interpretations. We spent 5 nights in camp and managed to have a game drive when we arrived also the morning we departed and four full days of game drives. We were woken at 0600 with flasks of Hot Chocolate and Cookies then started our game drives with our Driver Joseph, our Grandchildren were mesmerised with all the game they saw, Joseph was so knowledgeable and good with us all especially our Grandchildren, we managed to see the Big 5 and many, many more wild animals from Elephants to Bat Eared Foxes, Vultures to Mouse birds. Our family tent was superb, two tents with bathrooms split with a nice lounge area, but at all times you could see from one tent to the other, which allowed us to see our Grandchildren. The tents location was an added bonus overlooking the Talek River so you could view wildlife from your tent and verandah. The tents were always serviced by Gedion whilst we were on our game drives, water bottels replenished, our driver very kindly picked us up and dropped us off near the family tent to save us walking to far. All meals were of excellent quality and quantity, if you did not like what was on the menu they would prepare an alternative for you. Tom our waiter was excellent and spoilt our Grandchildren as did all the other staff. On Valentines Day there was a nice surprise with food & drink when we came off our Game Drive and in the Evening there was a special dinner around the pool, all the Ladies were presented with a Red Rose, my wife was thrilled as she had not received a red rose from me for over 45 years. All staff were very friendly and efficient, just to mention a few Steve the Manager, Stella his assistant, Tom the Head Chef, Andrew Reception(who kindly printed our Boarding Passes for us, in fact I would recommend all the staff for making our stay at Mara Intrepids, such a memorable and happy occasion. Having stayed in several other Safari Lodges I rate this the best, for it's location, authenticity, staff, service, food, value for money and all round complete package. We will definitely return to Mara Intrepids some time in the future, just have to save up.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Family Tents No's 1 & 2 all tents are afforded a degree of privacy and the...
