Kicheche Valley Camp

Could not have had a more perfect holiday w/Val and Brendan as our warm and gracious hosts. Food was excellent - lots of fresh fruit and veg, delicious freshly baked breads and desserts. Rooms and common areas are large and tastefully appointed w/earth-tones furnishings and bathrooms w/fresh, herbal-smelling toiletry products. Privacy on your own spacious veranda is there if you want it but the communal area is cosy-feeling and inviting and makes you want to linger. We were traveling w/ 2 children ages 6 and 9, and the staff - Charles, Dominick, to name just a couple of individuals - went above and beyond to ensure that they were always happy. Our guide, Jonathan, was incredible. Not the chatty type, this man could see animals a mile away with his hawk-like vision. His knowledge of the Mara's flora and fauna would rival that of any wildlife biologist or botanist. Needless to say, we were in very good hands at Kicheche Valley Camp.

Room Tip: Tents 1,2,3 are to the left of the common dining/lounge area and 4,5,6 are to the right (in that ord...

Very well looked after by Val and Brendan and all the staff, wonderful tents, great food.

Set overlooking a beautiful valley with wildlife wandering though it. The whole conservancy has many different types of varied and attractive scenery and plenty of wildlife. We saw lions, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, wildebeast, jackals, elephants, giraffe, warthogs, hyena and many different antelope. Plenty of birds - including hamerkop, kingfishers, verreauxs eagle owl, brown snake eagle and various types of vultures.

Really enjoyed the guided walk where we saw a leopard kill up a tree, leopard tortoise, frog and stick insects.

For relaxation - Selma does an excellent massage!

Room Tip: All the tents are great with good views

This camp is wonderful, we celebrated the first part of our honeymoon and could not have had a better time. The hosts are the most lovely people and ensure you have a great stay. The accommodation is of a very high standard, the staff are all fantastic and the food is some of the best I have ever eaten, as good as you would find in many high end restaurants. If you are going on Safari I highly recommend this camp, there is nothing that wasn’t perfect…oh and you see animals too!

We had the privilege of staying here on 21st to 24th September this year and what an experience it was. The camp is in a perfect setting and very small so it was a very personal service. The tents are fantastic, every comfort you could want - even hot water bottles at night ! Val, Brendan & Cat are warm & very welcoming and the perfect hosts. The quality of the food is outstanding, 3 course meals at lunch & dinner and brilliant picnic breakfasts and lunches out in the bush. All the staff and Masai are abolute masters of their craft. Our guide, Francis (senior) is unbelievable. We could not have had such a fantastic time without him. The depth of knowledge all the guides have is outstanding but I have to say it, we adore Francis, he is such a gem. I really didn't want to leave. This safari has really whetted my apetite and I only hope I can go back one day. This exceeded all my expectations and more.
If you're even considering a safari, this place is the gold standard which I doubt could be beaten anywhere. Please come to this camp and see for yourself how wonderful it is.

Room Tip: There's allegedly a resident leopard between tents 5 & 6 and you can hear him prowling aroun...

Perfect place for honeymoon camping! We stayed for three nights at the Kicheche valley camp and loved every minute of it. Amazing hosts (Brendan and Val), very friendly and attentive staff, excellent food every night and unbelievebly nice tents on an even more special location. The safari's were excellent in the nicely preserved conservatory. Our guide (Mika) was, next to very friendly, very knowledgable on the surroundings and all animals. Thanks to all the staff at Kichiche Valley for a wonderfull experiance!

Mum had always wanted to do a safari and booked this as a family holiday and all of us absolutely loved it. Everything about it was great and Brendan and Val were very welcoming hosts and we were spoiled with hot water bottles at night and woken up with tea, coffee and hot chocolate in bed in the mornings which made all the difference at 6am. The food was delicious, the service outstanding and the campsite very peaceful and in a beautiful location. Never written a review on trip advisor before but we were so impressed that I promised my parents I would! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
