I'm a local and grew up in the Mara triangle area decades before it became a park. This is my favorite gate because of the vast number of lions. Saw 9 in several hours.

I am a great fan of the conservancy concept and the Olare Orok Motorogi Conservancy has to be one of the best in my opinion. I must have visited this conservancy in excess of a dozen times now and I don't think we have ever failed to see leopard. Cheetah tend to be harder to see due to the concentration of lion and hyena but we see them most of the time.

There at least three large buffalo herds that seem to be resident. The bird life is excellent and the different types of terrain available for the various niches are all there.

The camps available to a visitor in the conservancy are really varied in what they offer their clients and what they cost but I have stayed in many of them and they all offer great value for money in my view. most of them have some type of niche that they specialise in, whether it is photography, luxury, value for money - there is something for everyone.

All the camps are genuinely wild without fences or barriers so it is usual to be able to see a lot of animals in the camps and hear them at close quarters at night.

Do not hesitate to stay in any of the camps in the OOM conservancy - you will never regret it.

It is part of the Maasai Mara - Serengeti ecosystem. As we were driving a lion got up suddenly on my side, unbelievable. He was as frightened as we were. We also saw two cheetahs.

Definitely the high point of our safari - we were staying at the Olare Mara Kempinski and thus privy to this private conservancy.

The Big 5 and more - giraffes, zebras, hippos, lions with their families, cheetahs and hundreds of wildebeests - no shortage of amazing game sightings every day - including a mother leopard treating her cub to a kill on a treetop!

And the best part - no queues of safari vehicles - it’s like an exclusive wildlife experience made just for you! Kudos to our driver guide Raphael who knew all the right locations for wildlife spotting!!

This was like a dream come true for our entire family - truly an outstanding experience!
