“Great exeprience”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

A wonderful world of narrow alleyways, donkeys (no vehicles), small shops and beautiful old buildings. Friendly people and some amazing little shops to visit...definitely worth it!

“Not changed much”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Visited in 2007 and again in 2013, it does not seem that much has changed, maybe more shops. Well worth a visit - take a guide - you will get more out of the visit.

“Ancient history”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Loved walking around the old town, but look out for the donkey poop along the way. One or two nice coffee shops can also be found. Had a beautiful wood carving done which was delivered to me at the airport on the day we were leaving, which I couldn't believe as Selim the shop owner had to catch a boat taxi across the bay to get it to me. Very impressed and have a piece of Old Lamu to hang on my wall now.

“Quaint village with no cars but lots of goats!”

Great character, neat shops and excellent photo opportunities. ATM's are nearby and the harbor is quite picturesque.
