“New Menu - Expensive!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

They now have a new Menu - n they ve removed all my favorites from the older menu: No Tomato Soup, No Margherita Salad. Prices are higher too...

Ambience is Excellent; however, food isn't as good as it was in their old Westlands Branch.

“Pricey, could do better”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Was welcomed albeit not in quite a friendly way. Got a chance to try the seating area outside and inside. Preferred the inside. Nice ambience inside, lovely presentation of Vespas on the wall, and the wine bottles are displayed in a lovely set up at the center of the restaurant.

The bread sticks and bread basket was impressive especially with the interesting butter that was seasoned with herbs.
Main course, the steak which I thought would be on a bed of arugula was instead under it, and probably helped conceal to a level how dry the steak really was. As much as it was well seasoned, the fact that it was dry did not help at all. ordered a sea food platter that was not very well done. The calamari was a tad stringy and unfortunately led to a stomach upset thereafter.
The food and wine is pricey for the service we got which was a bit cold and unwelcoming except on exit.
I expected with the location and expected clientele at this restaurant, to have much better service but was disappointed.
Can do a lot better

“It's just too expensive for average food”
Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

There was some hope of Mediterraneo gaining back it's former glory and status of the best Italian in town with their return to a Westlands location. However it's turning out to be the same story as it is with their branches in Gigiri, Junction and Kampala. The food quality gets even more inconsistent while prices are skyrocketing.
At this particular venue the location isn't as sexy as one would presume from the outside. The sitting area in the indoor courtyard has absolutely no atmosphere, and I have never seen anyone actually seated there. The main restaurant gets very noisy with its high ceiling and tiles amplifying every conversation. Nothing remains of the charming restaurant Mediterraneo used to be down on Woodvale Grove in Westlands. The industrial design of the outdoor terrace is also not enhancing the dining experience.
The premium prices charged these days are probably related to the high rent the owners have to pay for this new space. Neither does the restaurant get value for this high rent neither do the patrons get value for the price of the food. I foresee a bleak future for this location unless its entirely redecorated and the prices are brought down to reasonable levels.

“Good italian restaurant in Westlands”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Good choice if you are in the area. The food is good and they offer many choices.
Liked the ambience and the service was OK.
They could introduce delivery for the pizza, but meanwhile they have an outsourced service ;)
