There is a small food court in Yaya Centre consisting of 3 cafe's - Chinese, Italian and Indian. We had been to Saffron may years ago and thought we would go back and try all three. Saffron is not how it used to be. The waitress did not understand us and we found we had to repeat everything. When the meal was served, the rice was cold and we had to ask for it to be re-heated. Chapatis are not on offer so you would have to have Naan Bread, although if you ask the chef he will cook some for you. We like to have a vegetable side dish but this is not available - we had to have a main dish. When we asked for a side dish of vegetables we were told we get a small salad with the meal. This consisted of three slices of carrot, three slices of cucumber and three slices of tomato. The main meat dishes however, were good. Overall we were not impressed and will not visit again.

I was fed up with food at Best Western Hotel. So I went to Yaya mall and ate at Saffron which provides Indian food. The food was good but not great. Quite pricey. Walking distance from Best western premier hotel.

I have eaten at this restaurant before and I have to say their food is very good. If you enjoy Indian cuisine, then theirs is very close to the real thing. To be honest that side of town doesn't have many options for Indian cuisine. Their Bhajias are really good. They are a bit pricey although if you are not eating there often, its not that bad.

I have eaten at Saffron twice in the past 10 days and both meals were very good. I had two different paneer dishes and when I asked for "spicy" they prepared the meal very much to my liking. The menu is a la cartre, so rice is ordered separately. I also had buttered naan with both meals and each time is was warm and fresh. The only down side is the atmosphere - it is in the "Food Loft" at the Ya Ya Centre, so don't expect any ambiance. However, for takeaway of a good meal amongst people not bothered by this open setting, this is positively a solid choice. They may close around 7 (M-Sat), I think because that is when most shops in the mall close, but it could be that they're open until 8; call in advance to make sure. I also tip the wait staff for take out because they're so darn nice. I'll be returning again soon to sample more dishes as well as the raita.
