My family of 4, two adults, and two kids (16 and 12) enjoyed our rafting adventure with Savage Wilderness. Upon arrival we checked into reception and were led to an outdoor are with hot tea/coffee and freshly made mandazi (a slightly sweet fried dough). After a short time waiting, we were giving a safety briefing, then fitted with a splash shirt, life vest, and helmet. The briefing was thorough and hilarious. After about 20 mins, we boarded a bus and drove 15 minutes away to the start. We had a quick brief about how to paddle and then began the journey. It was action packed from the start. There were plenty of chances to swim in the river and even take a float down the rapids without a boat. I would recommend this for kids 10 and up, although a younger adventurous person would have no problems doing this. The BBQ at the end was great and had a ton of food to offer, including fish, lamb, and chicken. We self drove, but others took a bus from Nairobi which they said was comfortable. Overall, highly recommend you do this.
