My family of 4, two adults, and two kids (16 and 12) enjoyed our rafting adventure with Savage Wilderness. Upon arrival we checked into reception and were led to an outdoor are with hot tea/coffee and freshly made mandazi (a slightly sweet fried dough). After a short time waiting, we were giving a safety briefing, then fitted with a splash shirt, life vest, and helmet. The briefing was thorough and hilarious. After about 20 mins, we boarded a bus and drove 15 minutes away to the start. We had a quick brief about how to paddle and then began the journey. It was action packed from the start. There were plenty of chances to swim in the river and even take a float down the rapids without a boat. I would recommend this for kids 10 and up, although a younger adventurous person would have no problems doing this. The BBQ at the end was great and had a ton of food to offer, including fish, lamb, and chicken. We self drove, but others took a bus from Nairobi which they said was comfortable. Overall, highly recommend you do this.

The activities are decent enough - not great but worth it if you are nearby. However the camp is extremely basic. Limited hot water, electricity only available in the evenings and rationed meals. The power stays on until the small hours but is not on in the morning when you want to wash and shave. The wifi is so weak it is pointless and the food is so meagre you will spend forever asking for seconds and thirds.

My husband and I visited to go white water rafting. It was perfect and what a ride! 100% recommend it to all adventure seekers and beginners as well. My family and friends wait at the homestead whilst we rafted and enjoyed the pool and the lovely area and staff.

We had a great time white water rafting at Savage Wilderness. The water level was medium coming off the rainy season and it was perfect timing. Our guide, Thomas, was excellent at making sure we had a blast. I have been rafting numerous times and this was definitely the best time I've ever had. You definitely get wet right off the bat and there's not a boring moment! It was really fun swimming through the calmer rapids and getting soaked during the higher class ones. I recommend sitting in the front of the boat for the most excitement! The landscape was absolutely beautiful too. After 3-4 hours of non-stop fun we arrived back at the campsite for a refreshing shower and delicious barbecue. We will definitely be back for more!
