“be brave and enjoy a sloppy giraffe kiss !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

After going to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust we were taken to the Giraffe Centre where you can get up close and personal to the giraffes in the grounds.

The best thing is the viewing platform where you can look a giraffe in the eye and feed them pellets.

If you’re brave enough put a pellet between your lips and receive a sloppy giraffe kiss ! it’s quite an experience.

There are people on hand to ask questions but they were not forthcoming in giving you information, you have to ask them.
The shop has an array of gifts but beware, its expensive. I wanted to buy a bird book and it worked out at £40. Down the road I found the same book for half the price so just be wary.

Its hit and miss if the giraffes are at the feeding platform, we had two come over which were coaxed by someone going out into the field with a bucket of pellets and then walking them in. But they can go where they like although I’m sure they associate the viewing platform with food so you shouldn’t have a problem.

Overall, an enjoyable stay and a great opportunity to get up close and personal with these gentle giants.

“fun place; opportunity to see giraffes WAY up close”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013

nice way to look a giraffe in the eyes and see those long lashes up front, and for some, to feed the giraffes from their own mouths.

But please take the time to spend some time with the guys/ladies in the educational rooms off the circular terrace. good information and clarfication among the reticulated, maasai and rothchild giraffes (rothchild the only ones at the Giraffe Centre). It can get a bit hectic up there with lots of people trying to feed the giraffes at the same time but just take your time. You can get upclose views of the warthogs running around as well. decent giftshop.

“brilliant”

A great experience getting up close and personal feeding the giraffes. It is a small park but the giraffes are the main attraction.

“Interesting, over priced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

While we enjoyed this, it's way over priced for what is on offer. Once you have fed a giraffe, and walked through the shop that's it.
