This is another do not miss site...there are several kinds of giraffes here (warhogs, too) that you can feed, pat and observe. Rangers on the site are available to give a brief lecture on the centre, give more information about the animals and show you a leg bone.

This centre was an absolute delight! I had never been so close to these beautiful creatures. The guides were very informative and there was a short video about giraffes, as well as a small interpretive centre, showing pictures of the different species. We were given nuts to feed them and shown how to hold a nut in your mouth for the giraffe to take! They were very gentle. Our friends had small children who just adored the experience. Well worth a visit!

First of all the entry fee is rediculously high for what you get. Second: If u really want to go, go when the park is open so u can feed them while they are hungry. Otherwise the care-takers have to lure them over (read:chase them around until they are close to the people). The park is always stacked with tourists pushing and shoving. Only positive thing was that I bought a decent nature book in the gift shop..

It's lots of fun to be eye to eye with the giraffes. And, yes, you can feed them.

There is a tower to climb to get up to eye level. So, it may not be good for those with mobility issues. It can also be overrun with school groups. Which can either be a plus, awfully cute kids, or a negative. It's not a big place so you can probably get away with only about 20-30 minutes here.
