Wonderful thought by the government to put up the statue which really created a welcome scene at one of the spots in the city that was a bit shameful due to neglect. What stands out is that it is misplaced. Unlike the Dedan Kimathi statue along Kimathi street, Tom Mboya statue is on Moi avenue. Bench type of seats around the statue would have been good. People seat on the high pavements around. It's placed at the centre of a very busy street so be on the lookout for pickpockets. Soccer fans more so Gor Mahia supporters converge here before and after matches but beware if they have lost, they are rowdy and have defaced parts of the statue before. No camera? No need to worry; there's always a host of cameramen there.
