Kenya has much more history than what is showcased at the museum. I believe with better management this can be an impressive museum.

Refurbished, and set out in an easy to follow way. It has a great selection of prehistoric skeletons, showing the development right up to modern day Homo Sapiens.

There are galleries set out for Natural History, as well as Kenyan tribal and ethnic history, including the period of colonisation, and the subsequent MauMau rebellion, leading to Kenyan independence.

It has the largest collection of Bird specimens that I have ever seen in one location, and an ornithologist could easily spend hours in that section.

Don't miss the attached Snake house, They scare me to death, but fascinating all the same.

Fully recommended for an afternoon's entertainment, also has decent cafe/restaurant.

I had a wonderful visit at the museum. Don't miss Lucy and the description of the adventures by the Leakey's. The rest of the museum is interesting also but it is really the birth of humanity that grabbed my attention. If you have a chance, try to get out to the Rift valley-maybe Naivasha? to experience the valley where some of our ancestors came from.
