I went to the National Museum with a group of fellow students. The museum is very nice, featuring lots of scientific gems such as Lucy and other pre homo-sapien homonids. There are other things to look at as well including an exhibit about the history of Kenya and the wildlife of Kenya. The grounds also include the snake park which is worth a visit (I'm not sure if it costs extra but I suppose it does). However, this facility doesn't get 5 stars from me because of the staff. Because we are students, we are supposed to pay a discounted student rate. We showed the cashiers our student ID's but they said we had to pay the foreigner rate despite being students at the University of Nairobi. After arguing for about 30 minutes, our program director was able to get the prices slashed. Although, unless you're a visiting foreign student, you probably won't have to deal with this. Overall, I thought the museum was enjoyable and worth the time I spent there. I would recommend going if you enjoy culture and science.
