the place had really improved and there seems to be more order than a few years ago, also the eating places are ok though on the expensive side, you need to have a little tuck shop or something for students and others who cannot afford to eat at the cafes....food for though

“Great way to preview the country”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

If you travel to Nairobi, go here! It's wonderful and has not only an amazing collection of human fossils but also tells the history of Kenya on the second floor. Very interesting and a good way to familiarize yourself with the country when you arrive. Doesn't take a lot of time to do, you can squeeze it in in a couple hours.

“Amazing if you are interested in the making of human kind”

The skull displays were amazing. Some parts of the museum needed some attention, especially the displays. The bird display is the biggest I have ever seen and was mesmerizing. Well worth the visit!

“Good historical collection.”

The Naroibi National Museum is a great trip to take to learn about Kenya, its culture and people. The snake park is also on this site, though it could use an upgrade. It had been more than 30 years since I've visited it and would love to see some attention and funding to this part of the museum. Overall, the trip is a must if you are traveling to Kenya for the first time.

“Very interesting and educating.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

I recently visited the museum and enjoyed it very much. Even though it is not a big museum you can find different sections covering Kenyan History and EarlyHuman Discoveries and wild life animals. Museum has two floors. Upper floor has some exhibitions along with history of Kenya. First floor has animal sections and early human findings. Descriptions are detailed enough. There is also a snake park you can also combine. The entrance fee is 400ksh for residents and 800ksh for tourists.
