We stayed here two nights coming and going into the country. Serena is a big hotel and used for congresses too.

The rooms are very nice and have big beds with nice pillows. You have coffee and tea making facilities in the room. The shower is very nice and the towels are huge.

The food is good and the service is very good too. We asked them if it was possible to have breakfast before we went to the airport very early. They arranged for us to have breakfast in the room and they do not charge extra for this.

It is about a half an hour drive to the airport and very well located in town. We would stay here again if we visit Kenya.

As part of a two week safari to Kenya and Tanzania I started (and finished ) my trip at this beautiful hotel. The hotel is perfectly isolated from the busy, gasoline choked streets and it fully supports its' membership as a "Leading Hotel of the World" participant.

A beautiful pool area with full service for drinks and dining complements the other restaurants available within the hotel. The room I had was a standard king with a very nice bathroom with shower amenities.

Wonderful, cheerful staff at every department level--lowest to highest. A wonderful resort/hotel.

Stayed there for 3 nights. Squeaky clean rooms & bathrooms. Well maintained garden & swimming pool. A very good restaurant with good food. A very good & serene location on top of a small hill in downtown Nairobi. Actually can't think anything negative about it apart from the internet speed, which apparently was not the fault of the hotel but the country where I was staying.

Staff is very friendly & helpful. Overall a good value for money option in Nairobi.

Room Tip: Opt for rooms at the back end of the hotel so as to prevent you from the noise from the street. That...

We had a nice stay in this oasis in the middle of Nairobi. We had to pass through lots of security just to get in! The staff was helpful. There seemed to be lots of political and business people there. The hotel was clean and well-appointed. There was security on each floor. We ate several times in the restaurant down by the pool area. We did not venture outside the hotel grounds except to go with a missionary friend for the day. The common areas were very nice.

We didnt stay at the hotel but had lunch there. We had salad, burger and a sandwhich with ice cream for dessert. It was $51 US. I think was a little expensive overall. The service was ok but the food took quite awhile to come out. We were there nearly two hours start to finish just for a couple sandwhiches. Our waitress was good but seemed to be new based on her expressions and answers. She brought us warm towels when we sat down to clean up. They were so hot they burned out fingers.Really!! We had lunch out by the pool and it was a nice experience. The noise from the traffic was almost not noticeable. The flies were a nuisance but all else went well. One strange thing the staff stands around as if on guard staring at the customers as they ate instead of going around and making sure they didnt need anything. More than one customer had to ask for their bill while this went on.

Although we didn't stand, the hotel by the way is wonderful. Doorman is attentive and professional. All appointments are pristine and rich. Even the restrooms were clean and had fresh roses in them along with ice in the urinal. Yes, ice in the urinal. I would recommend this to a friend and may stay here next time I am in nairobi.

We were on a tour, staying here in this garden-type hotel in the middle of Nairobi. The rooms were average, and the included breakfast brunch very good. What made the visit special was complimentary wireless (not found in but one of 5 other hotels visited), and a very nice complimentary spa (except for facials or massages) which my wife enjoyed very much.

Room Tip: Although we stayed at the front side of the hotel above the porte cochere, the room was very quiet.
