“Nice hotel, convenient location, nice gym”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2012 via mobile

I stayed at Serena for 2 nights on a recent business trip to Nairobi. The hotel is clean, conveniently located, and secure. I used the gym facilities one morning and found them to be very nice, with a good staff. I'd give the hotel between 3 and 4 stars. I'd stay here again.

Greatly attentive to the details! In terms of the facility but also in terms of the people running it. Upon arrival instant recognition of the Leading Hotels membership, with subsequent rooom upgrade. Roooms were nicely appointed, well refurbished, efficient free broadband wifi everywhere, Comfortable beds and nice amenities that are absolutely to the level one would expect of a member of the leading Hotels in the world. Most important, was the kind well trained and polite personnel that always went out of its way to assist and please us. I would strongly recommend this Establishment which although not cheap is well within the European 5* luxury standards and I never thought I could find it in Kenya.

Probably the only hotel that we stayed at in Kenya that truly reflected what I would expect from an hotel purporting to compete on a world stage. Excellent food, friendly staff, nice comfortable room. Security is taken very seriously here. All in all, highly recommended, very much better than any of the other eight or nine Kenya hotels at which we stopped.

Room Tip: They all looked good to me. We had a room on the third floor, at the back, clean, queit and convenie...

This was a wonderful hotel with great rooms but unfortunately due to the security situation in Nairobi you have to pass through vehicle and person screening before you can enter.

Our trip was a 10th anniversary holiday and the hotel gave us a complimentary room upgrade. Our only regret was that we arrived late and had to leave early so we didn't get chance to enjoy it all. We were given a complimentary bottle of champagne, snacks and flowers - a lovely way to celebrate.

Breakfast was the only meal we had chance to experience and I have to say that I have never seen a better breakfast buffet in any hotel I have ever stayed in. It was superb and the service was excellent.

The only confusing thing about the hotel was on departure. You can't leave without a departure ticket which you get from the cashier to confirm you have settled your bill. We went to reception and they took our key and said it was fine - they didn't tell us to go to the cashier so when we tried to leave they asked for our departure ticket and we didn't have one.

We stayed here before & after our safari. We had a large, comfortable, quiet room. We really enjoyed the African art displayed throughout the hotel. The pool was a great place to relax at the end of our safari. We had an excellent variety of food at the buffet for breakfast & dinner.
The gift shop had a nice assortment of quality local products.
