We stayed at the Holiday Inn Nairobi for three nights and loved everything about it.
We had a room facing the garden and swimming pool (they have two pools, one in the garden and another one near the restaurant) which was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices and at dinner time they had a buffet or a la carte menu, food was good and reasonably priced. There is also a steak house attached to the hotel.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the ladies at the reception went out of their way to assist us with a small problem we had, which had nothing to do with the hotel. Very much appreciated.
The location is not in the city centre but it is very easy to get around by taxi and the Sarit shopping centre (Banana Box on the ground floor excellent for fair trade souvenirs!) and a small curio market are within easy walking distance.
Overall we had an excellent stay and will definitely use the Holiday Inn Nairobi again on our next stopover.

Hotel is located in the suburb some distance from the city centre. The style is colonial, with attractive gardens and two pools. Rooms and bathroooms are smallish, with big comfortable beds. Surprisingly for the price rooms have no airconditioning. This obliges one to use a high speed ceiling fan which is irritating as windows have to kept closed to avoid mosquitoes at night. Internet requires walking to the business centre for a voucher, not convenient when you arrive late at night. At this price, one expects it to be free. Food is standard Holiday Inn buffet style. Quality is OK, but not inspiring. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The standard of this hotel has been consistently excellent over the 6 or so years we have stayed there. The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and efficient and the rooms are clean, spacious and comfy - all ammenities etc as you would expect from a Holiday Inn.

The Hotel gardens are lush and the fish pond is a great hit with the kids ! The breakfast buffet contains everything you could ask for and more. The hotel also has swimming pools, a hair and beauty salon, business centre, curio shop & gym. The 'Spur' restaurant is a great family friendly restaurant with kids indoor and outdoor play areas.

Whether you want to spend a few nights here, or just use it as a stop over during your safari, this hotel is suited to singles, couples and families alike.

I was visiting Nairobi for the first time to visit family. Most of my family lives in and around the Parklands area. If you are going to be doing a lot in this area - then this is a great place to stay. Not too far from downtown but not in the center either. This hotel has some wonderful staff. One evening I came in late and my husband was already asleep a guard escorted me to my room to ensure I was safe. I liked the little touches like that. The pool area and gym were fantastic. I never did eat there so I can't comment on the food. A very nice hotel with good rooms.

Marooned by the volcano, we moved from the Serena to the Holiday Inn. The former offered luxuries which we thought superfluous. The rooms at the Holiday Inn were fine and the food was good enough. The garden areas were pleasant. The service was very friendly. One gripe was that many web sites reported that the pools (two, both just big enough for swimmers & kids) were heated. Not correct., they are not and do not have heating. The gym is pretty good by hotel standards. Internet access is available but marginally over priced.
