The hotel has good grounds and service. Rooms are standard, with no-frills but clean and good beds. The room I had though had terrible sound insulation. The rooms is next to service door that was being used all night long and making really loud sounds. It was really hard to sleep. I would recommend the hotel but not that room (333). Stay away from it.

Very pleasant and quiet place. Old victorian style lodge but modern, clean and simple rooms. Good food especially for breakfast at the Oasis Pool, by the swimming-pool in a large tropical garden. Good location not so far from city center and international airport. Nice service, fair prices.

First time I visited this hotel, reception area modern with friendly staff. The gardens are lovely an oasis in a busy city, rooms are a good size but found mine a bit outdated (bathroom needs tiling properly and toiletries replaced) rooms have been refreshed apparently but not sure if mine was missed out. I found it difficult to navigate around the gardens at night as quite dark in the walk ways and the signs are not lit up. There are plenty of security staff on all the floors so quite secure. Try to attend the managers cocktail party on Wednesday night as a chance to meet new people and enjoy free drinks and light snacks. A good selection of food hot /cold for breakfast and there is a spur restaurant on the premises so a good choice of steaks/ribs etc... The frogs in the garden at first are quaint but when you are trying to sleep are annoying (as they are very loud)The other fly in the ointment for me was the location, it seems to be surrounded by traffic jams, worse than other hotels I have visited in the area regardless of the time...but maybe it was just me.

Great breakfasts
Awesome & efficient business centre
Friendly Staff
Attached Spur (always a standard winner)
nearby Gipsy's pub/bar (the best cosmopolitan space in Nairobi)
and not far from several decent restaurants
45 minutes - 60 minutes from the airport without traffic though.

Room tip: Rooms above 150 are a bit farther of a walk to reception & breakfast, but also enjoy peace and a parking lot nearby should you have a dedicated taxi or hired vehicle, this entrance is an ideal collection point

Although a bit tired feeling, my experience was on the whole a very good one. The staff are attentive and the breakfast was surprisingly high standard. The same could not be said of the resaurant chain that the hotel has outsourced its lunch and dinners to. The food was unappetizing and the hookers in the bar offputting. That said, I will gladlystay there again.
