“It was a great experience!”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

Friends and family were visiting from overseas and we decided to treat ourselves by having dinner at the Tribe.

The welcome and service at Jiko's both times we went was warm and friendly. The food was excellent and the atmosphere quiet and serene.

The staff was attentive but not intrusive.

As the first dinner was such a pleasant experience, everyone decided to experience it a second time before they flew back to the States. The 2nd experience was just as rewarding.

“A poor re-launch!”
Reviewed November 4, 2011

This 5 star hotel restaurant re-branded itself from Epic to Jiko on Monday 17th October, my wife and I and some friends visited on Friday 21st October excited afer reading articles in local papers and magazines.
We were suprised to see that nothing much had changed apart from the actual menu. We were even more suprised when we were told that there were items missing from the menu (scallops and anchovies). For a restaurant re-launching to have items missing from the menu on the first weekend night for an early table is unacceptable! The soup arrived luke warm as did the cappuccino at the end of the meal. On a positive note the presentation was excellent and the food was reasonably good. The deserts are some what confusing as what is on the menu is not clear, as a selection of deserts is presented including the one of your choice. The service was ok. We didnt quite understand the whole Jiko story that was published in the press as it did not seem to materialise in the actual restaurant.
