It was very nice to see variety of animals, however, it would be nice if the zoo keepers could track the feline animals and direct the visitors to see these sorted animals. The Kenyan government needs to vamp up and improve the roads and surrounding communities that lead to this zoo. Overall, we were very overjoyed to have seen different wild animals.

Went to the park and decided to go with a friend who had been there many times, guaranteed to see loads of animals she says. No go,drove for miles and saw very little wild life, better off going to Longleat for the day. Soooo take an organised tour, the tour guides keep in touch with the other guides by radio so they can tell all the guides where the animals are hanging out.

My son and I had a wonderful two days in and around Nairobi. Although I had been through Nairobi several times on way to Arusha, Tanzania, I had not taken the opportunity to see the sights. Wima Tours organised an itinerary that took in the major attractions including the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixon's home, a walk around Nairobi and a one day tour to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Having seen many game sanctuaries, Lake Nakuru National Park did not disappoint! Thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff at Wima Tours for organising the two days, accommodation in Nairobi, airport transfers and shuttle bus to and from Arusha.

Mindblowing experience ! The hot air balloon ride was organized by the owners of the Sun Bird Lodge [ superbly located and exquisitely done up place, perched atop a hill overlooking Lake Elementaita - a view to die for !] . We spotted a variety of birds on the lake, including pelicans and then gently drifted over the 48,000 acre Soysambu Conservancy [ part of Lord Delamere's estate] which is home to over 15,000 wild animals including the Rothschild giraffe, zebra, wild buffalo and several species of antelope. The grand finale - a proper bush breakfast with champagne, with the giraffes for company !!!

I visited this Nakuru lake forest , on 8th May 2012 and fortunately saw the lioness and lions climbing on a bend tree .took lot of photographs and made video ....which is now one of my great collections ..amazing and never forgetable moments of my life ....Lions in forest so near to me......wow!!!
.Reaching here early morning is best to see more animals . We reached here around 8.30 morning after 2.30 hours drive from Nairobi, and saw many animals , lions , Rhinos , Baffalows, Zirafs , Zabras in groups, crowd of different dears, Beautiful Flamingos , never seen birds , etc etc ..only leopard can not see. Elephants are not in this forest .
some important points to visit here is :
1. Big bargain is in Nairobi with tour operators to go here for full day . If you know some local he can arrrange for you best deal and visit .
2. minimum 15 / 20 X Optical zoom camera is good to carry to have the photos of animals and must carry with you water bottle and some snacks .
3. Go to Hotels in side the park and have rest there for one hour with tea or lunch , and see the beautiful views from the Hotel gardens . If you will go there than you will see automatically the main part of forest , as these hotels are deep inside the park but ask your driver to go to these hotels in the evening around 3.0 clock . ( it must be confirmed at the time of booking the Van ) .
4. To stay in these hotels is only to stay near the nature nothing more . You can come back in the evening to Nairobi and enjoy the night life in Nairobi , casinos, bars, night clubs , go go bars, and what ever you want you will find there but be safe in Nairobi . Keep your psssport and big money with belongings in the locker of the room when going out in night .
5. Lake Naivasha is on way to Nakuru , you can see it when coming back . They says that Hippos are there but most of tourists never found . Good bargain for speed boat is there because big commission of your van driver . Generally 1500-2000 local currency is the price for full speed boat for one hour . Its not must to see attraction .
6. Hire only open roof van to go to nakuru lake park other wise you can not see animals properly . Never go in bus or car .
7. Go early in the morning , you must reach there around 8.30 than you can enjoy around 6-7 hours and early morning is best time to see animals and birds .
8. Entry fee in the park is 80 USD each person and driver with van will pay for him by himself ( ie only 2000 local currency) . . You can pay here by your vISA card . Local currency is also good but if you pay cash USD it will be costly .
Nairobi city and its surrounding areas , saffaries , parks are really nice to see and enjoy . If you wants to go world fame Masai Mara National park than you must have minimum 4 days which include your stay in Masai mara for 3 days . Masai mara is good to see in mid August but to visit Masai mara is little costly .
Enjoy Nairobi keeping in mind little safety and good bargaining in everything . Locals wants to make money from tourists and tries to cheat . Keep away from you and dont talk to locals on roads . Its better to ask anything from shop keepars .
