For a price of around US$19.00, including breakfast, and within easy walking distance of the city centre, this has to be an excellent choice.
Nairobi has the reputation of being a dangerous city, no doubt some areas are, but this hotel is not in one of them. The walk to the centre takes ten minutes, through an equally 'safe' area, and near to the hotel is a supermarket, market, internet facilities and a newspaper vendor. There is even a bank with an ATM just across the road.
As for the hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent, although the same everyday. After ten days it was getting a bit repetitive!
The rooms are a little 'tired', but have hot water showers and TV's. There is no internet within the hotel.
The in-house restaurant has a reasonable menu, the food quality is good and the price typical for such an establishment. Downstairs, there is a fast-food eating area, outside the hotel, on a terrace overlooking the road. Food is cheap and wholesome.
In all, this is a great place to stay, and for the price, excellent value. They even found somewhere safe and inside to keep my bicycle!
