“don't expect a lot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2011

Typical location pre- or after-tour. Not a fancy hotel, a bit old, but clean and with a good shower. Located in the University area and close to the city center, it is good for a walk. It seems a safe place. Restaurant and breakfast does not worth it. A bit overpriced.

Having read the previous reviews, thought this place was awful....surprised and pleased they were wrong. Ok it had a few issues, but as a 1-night pre GAP Tour it was spot on. We didn't arrive until after midnight so it was literally a bed and shower the next morning. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but did what it said on the tin!! It was a bit dated, but for Nairobi it was not bad.

Our travel agent booked this as an overnight before flying home. Not a good choice. It is a hotel that has definitely had it's day. Only place in Kenya we stayed that didn't have mosquito nets- and got bitten alive. Noisy. Design of bathroom having open window to corridor ( above eye level) meant noisy revellers returning late at night transmitted their loud conversations more readily. Restaurant mediocre.

We stayed here for a day before our departure. Good, clean and nice place. You can see lot of birds in this place. Being next to the university is an advantage, close to the city center but out of the hustle.

This was the hotel that GAP Adventures had booked as the startibg hotel for our Kenya/Tanzania tour. It was nice enough but would never have paid that price if on my own. You can do better.

I arrived early in the morning and the hotel management was able to provide me room upon arrival. Staff was very cooperative and friendly. Cleaning and standard of room was excellent. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Hotel has tight security and is situated at the walking distance from the centre. If you travel first time in Nairiobi, be ware to respect the time when national flag is hoisted opp and taken down every day. You have to stop like any other citizens. Resurant is pretty ordinary with prices that did not match neither quality nor quantity. No wireless connection, however paid service is avaialbe in the lobby, which is very expensive.

We stayed here for our first night in Kenya . Reception was not friendly. The room to the street side were very noisy. They were renovating the hotel and thus it was also very noisy inside the hotel. Breakfast was basic. The positive: the children liked the swimming pool and it is walking distance to the national museum. Good for one night but all the places we stayed in Kenya and Tanzania after this were much better.
