Every thing about this hotel is very cleverly put together, i do not have any faults, who ever put this together and designed it is very clever, any one that has any faults about it must be a person that moans about things, the staff are very obliging and the porter Patrick is a porter who likes to please you, with high standards will recommend this hotel to many of my business friends in England My room was a very delightful room and every thing in it is what I wanted its like being at my home. The restaurant again is very clean and well thought out, the food was great. Excellent! The open kitchen is fantastic, and very very clean, well spread out with detailed food, in the evening the kitchen gives you a B|Q effect.

We were only using the hotel room as a "dayroom", but I was wishing it was for longer. The room was beautiful!!!!!! The hotel itself is gorgeous. Our tour guide Agoi from Affable Tours planned for us to have a dayroom as a comfortable way to relax for the day (very close to the airport) before our evening flight out of Nairobi. We could nap, shower, eat... all in this cool hotel. It was the perfect ending to an spectacular adventure! Thanks again Agoi for an unforgettable adventure.

Room Tip: Make sure to leave enough time to eat. The restaurant service is pleasant and relaxed. Nobody is i...

We had five guests stay for a conference and they reneged on the airport transfer at the conclusion of the stay. Bad customer service and poor common sense. It's a $20 charge nd they seem completely unable to recognize they may be shilling smart but dollar foolish. Won't stay next time and will recommend my colleagues do the same.

The Ole-Sereni may be the nicest and newest hotel in Nairobi. It has also got to be the loudest. So let's start there. We had dinner in the restaruant and literally had to yell to be heard over a couple corporate nametags groups at the far end. No sound deadening, the smokey open kitchen, bartender who couldn't do a martini, and non-existent service would keep us from returning to dine. Once in our room the noise intrusion from the open air bar below droned on until 2AM keeping us awake. Sadly, we were just there to sleep, not party, as the party sounded quite lively. I am also mildly critical of the reception staff which I found a bit arrogant.

On the positive side the hotel is new and quite beautiful. The rooms were very modern glass and marble and the bedding very comfortable. The bathrooms are glass enclosed and don't offer much privacy. Location is about 4 miles from the airport so the hotel is good for transit purposes. We've stayed elsewhere in Nairobi and I don't think you'll find a more modern and sophisticated hotel, though perhaps a quieter one.

Room Tip: Don't stay above the bar; request the road side

Being booked at the Serini for 3 nights by my company, left me with no option to consider an alternative hotel in Nairobi, never the less, I am glad I got the opportunity to experience the Serini, as I was a bit apprehensive based on all the negative reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel is ideally situated in close proximity to the international airport and travel to and fro to the airport takes approximately 15 mins at most, which is an incentive if you are between flights. In my opinion the Ole Serini is better adapted to meet the needs of a single business traveler. The standard rooms are a bit cramped for space and would struggle to meet a 5 star rating. The group who operates the hotel should consider revamping the room interiors, sound proofing and in room amenities. As the group benefits from a global portfolio hence the above comment, as what may be local to an operation in a particular country may not necessarily be a global standard –consistency. I have had the opportunity to stay with the group in India between 2009/2010 and have experienced their low-cost, boutique and luxurious offerings alike and was truly satisfied at what was on offer. The hotel complex is as good as it gets in Nairobi and looks pretty well maintained.
The hotel borders a game park and the Big 5 restaurant offers stunning views of the game park. The breakfast offering was sumptuous; however the same cannot be said about the a la carte menu for lunch/dinner. On the first night I ordered a Far Eastern main, the meal was very well presented and captured the essence of the country where that dish originated, unfortunately nothing positive to write about the quality of the dish without not, drowning the pleasantness that good food evokes through the taste buds. The dish in no way resembled anything close to what it was supposed to taste like.
The staff were a pleasure to deal with –service with a smile. The restaurant and bar situated on the upper floor overlooks the game park and the view was fantastic. A bit of caution whilst dining at the restaurant though as I would classify the food as way below 5 star standards, presentation though was excellent. The only fond culinary memory was of the “Kebab night” –unlimited kebabs – the kebabs were marinated and cooked to perfection.
To summarise, the only plus about this hotel for me is its close proximity to the international airport and the superb and friendly staff, but it still has a long way to go (in my opinion) before it can become a true 5 star.

Room Tip: "Rooms facing the game park are an absolute necessary"

We recently stayed at the Ole Sereni hotel in Kenya following a friend’s recommendation and the entire experience was fantastic! The hotel itself is conveniently located for the airport, downtown Nairobi, as well as many well-known attractions, such as the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage, the giraffe sanctuary, the Kazuri bead factory, Masai markets and the former home, now museum of Karen Blixen. The hotel itself is completely unique, being situated on the edge of a Game Reserve yet within a capital city. We had a room facing out to the national park, which was very pleasant, with wonderful views of a myriad of animals in their natural environment. The hotel has excellent security, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the décor relaxing and elegant with a subtle African theme. We particularly enjoyed the fine artwork that can be found throughout the hotel and the grounds. The pool and terraces are stunning – the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a gin and tonic while watching the game. The facilities such as the gym and health club are also first-rate - which is a good thing because the food is so good a daily trip to the gym is obligatory! The breakfast was included with our room rate and was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had. We dined on several occasions at the award-winning hotel restaurant and were always impressed. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in Nairobi – you would be hard pressed to find a better all-round hotel in this city than the Ole Sereni.

For the second time in three weeks we transited through Nairobi. This time we were only 15 minutes from the airport. This hotel is modern, bustling and has a good bar/restaurant choice. Dont go to downtown Nairobi if you are just overnighting, stay here, with the bonus of overlooking the nairobi wildlife park so the animals can be viewed from your hotel room!

Room Tip: Try for a wildlife park view
