Owner description: The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) Elephant Nursery in Nairobi National Park provides a safe haven to orphaned baby elephants rescued by the DSWT. The Nursery provides the first stage in the hand-rearing and development of milk dependent baby elephants. Once they graduate from the Nursery, aged 2-3 years, the elephants move to one of the DSWT's Reintegration Centres in Tsavo East National Park, from where they will ultimately return to the wild.

“Wonderful Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014

This is a great place to see the wonderful work that the trust is doing. The opportunity to be so close to such amazing animals is definitely worth the very small admission price. I actually had already adopted an elephant so I also enjoyed a smaller group tour in the afternoon where I saw the elephants run past me and then off to bed they went. A definite must see when in Nairobi.

“Helping save the little ones...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2014

I love this place, the fact that Dame Daphane Sheldrick has been tryng to save the orphend elephants for many years is impressive. The staff is great and you can tell that this is not only a job, but must important preserving a species. I do wish they would make it easier to sponsor the orphaned elephants, they don't take credit cards. Most of us traveling over seas don't always have extra cash on their persons for this sort of fun.

“Worthwhile, accessible encounter with elephants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

I don't have a lot to add to what has been said below. It's great to see the young elephants at such close quarters, and the money raised goes to a very good cause. The suggested donation is very reasonable. Well worth it for any visitor to Nairobi.

“A brilliant organisation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

Although a lot of people attended, you have to take your hat off to what they are doing for orphaned elephants. A well run enterprise.
A treat to see them so close and reach out and touch their rough skin.

“Go visit the elephants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

For those of you short on time in Nairobi but would like a taste of wild life this is a great place to visit as one can only visit for an hour when feeding takes place from 11am-12pm daily. These orphans are beautiful and it's heart warming to know there are people/organisations that look after these beautiful, and vulnerable orphans in their time of need and protection.

If it's raining take care as there will be lots of mud.
