Great long stay studio apartments

Review of The King Post
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 23, 2019via mobile
My second long stay this year (2 weeks). I really enjoy the well maintained apartments and the convenience of having a real kitchen. The laundry service is reasonably priced and efficient. There’s also a back patio off the kitchen with separate laundry sink and clothes line. Just the thing after a muddy weekend day in the park. The photos speak for themselves.

We have stayed twice now in King Post, but only one night each time. It seems more ideal for a long-term stay. We have stayed in 3 different long-term style residences in Nairobi, and i must say, I like the King Post best. It is spacious; the decor is amazing; the food is very good, too. It might not be best for light sleepers as the walls seem a bit thin, but that was not a problem for us. It is not in the middle of the main Westlands shopping area, but that makes the road noise much quieter. Also, if you have to make it to other parts of Nairobi, it is a little more accessible.

The King Post is a good hotel and definitely worth booking - best directly via their website. I would compare the price with sites like Booking.com and others. The setting and architechture are very welcoming and unique, the rooms are suites with kitchen facilities a "living room" and bed room. The bathroom is clean and the shower is fine but nothing fancy, basic but definitely sufficient and clean. The service for breakfast is friendly but very slow and it takes time for them to process your payment so take this into consideration if you are in a rush or need to be picked up. The Spa is good and Rose is excellent. She has experience and strong hands! I definitely recommend her.

Overall a good place to stay in Nairobi

I wanted to try out the King Post because it has a decent gym compared to other hotel gyms, and my friends live in one of the apartments nearby, unfortunately my stay for work was coloured because:

1. No internet for over a week - so that I had to postpone skype conferences, or go to noisy cafes to do them without any privacy.
2. The nights were noisy, with loud music playing three nights in a row - I had finally call the reception one night, so I could get at least one decent nights sleep - I had specifically written asking for a quiet room
3. The studio apartment did not have a desk for a work space
4. The lamu beds are charming, but very rickety and squeaky - which also did not help with the sleeping
5. The studio was dark and oppressive
6. The whole place feels a bit worn down - towels were tattered
7.

The food at the restaurant was good, and the staff wonderful. I wish I could say better things about the King Post.

Room tip: Top floors should be brighter

Dear Mr. RFP B,

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you. You are our valued Guest and your opinion matters a lot to us, it helps us get better.

We are very disappointed to learn that you were without internet for a week! We have an in-house IT technician who would have checked this out immediately. Our entire business is run on internet and we cannot survive without it.

If there were issues troubling you, all you had to do was inform The Manager and they would have been looked into immediately and your stay would have been satisfying. Nevertheless, thank you for the great feedback and your preferences, we are also looking at the issues that you have mentioned above.

We take this opportunity to welcome you back soon.

The ambience, especially at the rooftop, is second to none while the view picturesque.
A quaint country cottage with a touch of the 21st-century modernity to hang out at if the hustle and bustle of the City Center is something you are averse to.

Room tip: For nature lovers, explore the rooftop bar,
